Also there is also category C: they are not developers and they don't care about the code at all, but also not really much about the product. They just want to tick the boxes. They blindly accept that LLMs "take time" after t

Funny, it's not that different in the web-space. Most of AI is being used to generate procedural content. It is impressive on the first video or first image, and it might look useful on the surface, but it gets grating quite fast.

This is an instruction by the harness. It re-injects the prompt every other message, so that's why it "forgets" to use the Edit tool.

It's a grey area. App Review Guidelines §2.5.2 says: "Apps should be self-contained in their bundles, and may not read or write data outside the designated container area, nor may they download, install, or execute code which int

I don't disagree at all, I'm just mentioning why I don't think people are gung-ho on a web alternative.

Another factor is design. A lot of companies go to React Native, etc, because they want one single non-native design on both platforms. Which IMO can be a mistake most of the time, especially from the POV of a user.

It can download Javascript (or other interpreted language, or config data), but you generally can't download and execute new compiled native code on iOS, due to iOS code-signing/executable-memory restrictions. Also keep in mind Ap

I think the more likely reason is that there's nothing wrong with the web per se, but rather with the way people use it. Even the argument against the Javascript/CSS/APIs explosion and browser complexity... all that can be &q

When Jimmy Wales launched Fandom, then called Wikia, a shit-ton of (actually encyclopaedic) content about fictional stuff was deleted from Wikipedia to be moved to Fandom, with the excuse that it was a "sister project", that it wa

I mean, you're 100% right, but what's the alternative? They wanna keep the salary. The machine rewards political people, not people who pick fights to improve the product. It's a perfect pair. :/

I have worked at MS-sized orgs that are like this, but have also worked at 100 employee startups that are exactly the same. Once bad culture gets to your company, it doesn’t matter the size.

Yeah. In context the answers make a lot of sense: it’s a dysfunctional company where ownership is non-existent and getting shit done is hard. This is how learned helplessness looks like when you’re a high level executive.

I have been using my Apple Watch as a dumb phone from time to time. It's like 4-5 years old and still kicking. It has Music, Maps and Telephone. Also my significant other can follow me on Find My Friends to know when I'll arrive.
