I absolutely love my MacBook Air. I run it exclusively in Lion but have virtual machines for Ubuntu and Windows when I need it. The build is amazing, the battery life very good for its size, and I really like the keyboard and screen (though

I'm using a 2011 Macbook Air that came with Lion and from opening the lid to login prompt takes about a second. I'd never shut it down fully because the battery life is so good I don't need to!

Stunning result in this case, and with minimal assets (an image, some CSS) - great! Sadly doesn't obviously transfer well to anything other than a flat glossy object though.

Can't you just middle click the icon in the dock? Middle click launches a new instance of the app instead of bringing the current instance to the foreground.

I appreciate the concept - I'm just surprised at how dramatically the results have changed (literally) overnight.

"It's two days old, there isn't a lot of software written for it yet. That's not surprising since most developers just got theirs two days ago." So it's unacceptable that the iPad doesn't come preinstalled with all the things that you e

"breathtakingly expensive hardware and software" Where can you get something considerably cheaper than the Macbook Airs that sport: - 128GB SSD (13") - 1440x900 (13") display - 4GB of RAM - Core i5 - operating system included - thin, ligh

Because of the greater viewing distance to a laptop panel they should still be able to give it the "Retina" tag.

Completely unnecessary comment. But as an anecdotal counterpoint I love glossy screens. The colours are more vibrant and there is less of the "soft fuzz" that matt screen surfaces cause to the image. I use my laptop as a workhorse for hours

It's not quite what you're asking for, but there is a way to handle array results from functions where you know the number of elements that will be returned. For example: // explode splits the string on the provided boundary // and returns

That's a chassis for 2.5" disks so you'd be looking at 60x1TB disks, and that would mean 3 of those enclosures. Now rack them somewhere and add power - still much more than a couple of grand, we haven't even paid for the disks yet...

Even using 3TB consumer grade SATA disks you'd need 20 of them, an enclosure for 20 disks costs a lot more than a couple of grand.

I believe the change in policy was that you can now implement VMs/scripting engines but that /all/ of the bytecode/code that will run on them must be packaged within the app (i.e. you can't download more code to run dynamically).
