One interesting approach I remember from a previous thread on this topic, was to charge for writing a spec, but discount it from the project total if the client decided to go with you. That said, if the spec is large enough where you're goi

http://trac.roundcube.net/browser/trunk/roundcubemail Looks like pretty straightforward PHP4. I wouldn't really hold that against it unless you plan to do development with it.

IMHO, the following would be ideal: W = Forward S = Backward A = Turn Left D = Turn Right Q = Strafe Left E = Strafe Right That way, you don't need a mouse, and you only lose strafing by using the arrow keys.

I went from a Thinkpad T400 to an MBP, and I had no problem getting used to the keyboard, outside of the fn/ctrl/opt/cmd button placement. I'm not sure if any Thinkpads have backlit keyboards, but it's miles ahead of the Thinklight. @OP: Af

I don't design very often, but I usually stick to one or two fonts for an entire page, so I don't use too many non-standard fonts or font stacks. I've recently grown fond of Georgia, but besides that, I generally stick to Verdana and Trebuc

To start, there are only a few dozen "core web fonts"[1] with which 99% of browsers will have. Then there are a handful of fonts specific to Windows/Mac/Linux, which commonly will be in one but not the other. For "fancy" fonts, Google Web F

Very cool. Is there no underwriting process then? That seemed to be one of the biggest steps in getting setup with Braintree.

I'm comparing payment processing options for a very straightforward SaaS app. I was heavily leaning toward Braintree, but Stripe and Samurai seem easier/cheaper. Is there a strong reason to go with Braintree? I'm not sure if having my own m

Would there be much overhead from increasing the expiry time to 3 hours or so? After 3 hours I wouldn't care about pagination, but it seems to be less than an hour currently.

Two things I'm hoping for - a $3-5/mo ad-free subscription, and better playlist/favorites management.

For what it's worth, I have a relatively large music collection (100gb+) and used an 80gb iPod for two years before getting a 32gb iPhone. The difference in usability was /huge/, to the point where I didn't miss the 50gb of space. If I didn

I like this a lot, including the color scheme. The only issue I see is events getting cut off if the text is too long - maybe you could expand the box if your mouse hovers for a few seconds?

Are you in a position to set better deadlines? If you know you can work X hours per day, try to schedule around that, rather than assuming you can suddenly work X + 2 hours per day.

http://www.ioncube.com/online_encoder.php I'm not sure how safe this is for running config files, but since the decoder is free, this would be affordable. You can also look into the pricing for Zend Guard.

I'm assuming the sysadmin cannot/would not edit the source? If that's the case, a solution like IonCube might do the trick. Just make sure PDO connection errors aren't displayed/logged, since they may contain connection info. You can also t

I would watch streaming TV shows with targeted ads, but I don't think I would download a TV show with generic ads. If there's an advertisement before a YouTube video plays, I'll avoid watching it, but if it means that I can watch a TV show

That's disappointing since $10/1000 messages is a good price point IMO. The "cheapest" iPhone plan right now is $40/mo base, $10 for messages, and $15 for a pathetic 200mb of data. Going from $65/mo to $75/mo for essentially no benefit is r
