@Software errors: I second that. If the result isn't officially documented or on StackOverflow, it's a total tossup whether it'll be easy to find or not.

I upgraded iTunes right after I wrote the post - Up Next is exactly what I was hoping for.

This seems to portray them in a negative light, but I think the lack of installers/uninstallers is wonderful.

I'm assuming that storing $129.99 as 12999 and dividing by 100 when necessary would be preferable?

WebHostingTalk[1] would be a better place to ask this question. There are certainly plenty of companies there that will help you create a turnkey business, but personally I don't think the budget hosting market is very lucrative - if you lo

Comcast boxes are such a ripoff. They used to be $3/mo, and now they're at $7/mo. A brand new DOCSIS3 modem is less than $90[1], and the ones most people rent are bottom of the barrel DOCSIS2 modems. [1] http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-SB61

I maintain a small ad-free site that links to a bunch of job boards[1]. There are definitely a few good sites out there. You can also wait until tomorrow morning and post in the monthly WhoIsHiring thread. [1] http://careers.sh

Thanks for the suggestion - it also led me to some other cool projects like git-media. If git doesn't keep its own copy of the data, a Dropbox "failure" would still be unrecoverable, right?

The thing is, Dropbox treats their version as the primary copy. For instance, I added several directories to Dropbox, and decided that I didn't want it syncing a few of them. I de-selected the directories under "Selective Sync" and it remov

How viable would it be to keep all of your data in a git repository? Let's say I'm backing up 25gb of music, could I have Dropbox sync everything but the .git folder, and just do a git revert if shit goes down? Will it end up using twice as

Few thoughts: - Don't worry about code backups, assuming you have the following: 1. Local copy 2. Local backups 3. GitHub 4. GitHub's own backups 5. Copy on Heroku 6. Heroku's backups (?) 7. Any server backups That's a hell of a lot of back

I mostly just go to reddit meetups in Boston, so my perspective is slightly skewed, but I find the biggest problem is usually the venue. Very few places can seat more than 6 people or so together comfortably.

Pedantic note: I'm not excusing them for lacking something as critical as a secure way to transmit sensitive information, but it's certainly more involved than "ten dollars worth of PHP." You're probably looking at setting up a dedicated se
