And? Quicksort in general runs faster than Heapsort, yet the worst case performance of the first is O(n^2) while the later only O(n log n). If they implemented it, I'm sure they've found that there's a performance boost for large datasets

Inventing good languages within other languages is a good thing. Just look a Rails. Inventing bad languages, well, bad code is always going to be bad. I disagree that Scala is not better than Java. Any language which adds additional mec

Fairly surprised to see an STM article linked. I wonder how soon the days will be where people learn STM and Actors in their concurrency classes first and these become the norm in the real world. You know, sort of like a parallel to how m

I can't figure out which bothers me more: Microsoft being so underhanded with these updates to software it doesn't produce or that they allow pretty much any company to install an add-on within Firefox without user consent. This has happen

They're not only raising prices because they can, they're raising prices because they should. Higher prices will allow them to invest more in upcoming technologies like 4G networks. - I don't mind paying more if I use more. - I do mind,

It isn't that pitiful, per se, but there are a lot of people who want to be programmers trying to pass themselves off as actual programmers. Then again, there are a small handful of people who can't code that apply all over the place becau

I think Google with YouTube has already attempted to monetize the "pay attention to me" phenomenon. Then there's Wordpress and a host of other blogging services. However, I have to agree, pay-attention-to-me-as-a-service is a good busines
