Wow, I really, really, really like that second design. The two nav menu is brilliant. Maybe I'm behind the times (I think I am but that's why I'm not a designer) but it's sexy.

I bought an emergency computer at Best Buy pre-installed with Windows 8. No matter what I've tried I can not get the thing to start not in Windows. I can't even drop down to the legacy BIOS to get Linux to boot. Oh yeah, I also failed the r

Yeah, I bought one of your licenses Microsoft. I didn't want to buy it. Given the choice I would not have bought it. And quite clearly as evidenced in my past week of Twitter I've been trying to get rid of it. Alas, to no avail...

Um, no. C is a perfectly valid language and some of the best, most robust systems in the world are written in it (Linux, Git, etc.) Some languages are even built to run atop C (Cython.) Even the JVM deals with pointers, memory allocation is

Someone else IS innovating. They're printing out of print books for a tidy fee. What's remarkable is that so many books are unavailable once they've run. That is publishers are incentived to destroy rather than keep books which don't immedi

Ugh. I read this and cry inside. Perfectly brilliant idea that I didn't even think of. Why? I just purchased a new ultra book burdened by Windows 8 pre-installed. If I switch to the legacy BIOS the machine won't boot up, period. The only w

I disagree. I found WTForms quite easy to use and straight forward. I believe there's even a Flask-WTForms module. It's very natural. I was just thinking the other day how nice forms are in Flask. Having to write ky own forms stuff in Scala

Large entities can often mask accounting fraud with the helpnof an accounting firm. Think Enron and Auther Anderson. I'm pretty sure HP is going to sue the begeezus out of a number of complicent players. They should start with the former C

Impressive. Massively impressive. Does this count towards your thesis in any way? I'd hate the kind of effort this required to go to waste when PhDs sucks the life out of your for 6-8 years (at least in the US.)

I worked for several years as a C++ developer. Let me tell you that a "kitchen sink" language is a problem. You have to choose a subset to work in, there's lots of corner cases, and moving from one shop to another will turn you quickly into
