It's great but the only people who it would speak to are technical people. If you started with the section on blind people, then security researchers, then go into detail about other things like getting apps from an app store first, you'd a

Always good to read something like this every once in a while. Reminds me just how far i haven't gotten in my short career. Right, I really need to double down on css.

Corporations who want legislation passed will try repeatedly until it is passed. They have no incentive not to. What really matters is just how many people will continually combat this. Eventually people tire of fighting and they win.

Great bit of slides. Straight and to the point. If you've ever ventured under the hood of Python you'd see this in the code. If you've ever had to optimize the bejeesus out of code in C++ or C, you'd know exactly the kinds of things he's ta

So do these bank to bank transfers allow escrowing funds? If so, the hits keep coming. I'm amazingly impressed not only with their customer service but ease of use settings things up.

1 year to talk to people in real businesses that aren't in tech and study their problem in depth. 4 years to create what they need. Too vague? I don't know enough about enough things outside of tech to really build something that would actu

Some of us working in hybrid OO-FP languages or strictly FP languages might argue against IoC. I have seen and been exposed to code bases while beautifully written are completely untraceable in cause-effect debugging. Which combination caus

Novus Partners also does Scala. We've even got a few Python guys coding in Scala. It's just a language with the JVM ecosystem to back it up. Python has it's own ecosystem and for numerics, access to LAPACK and UBLAS is pretty awesome, I mus

This whole test says more to me about the performance of non-blocking MongoDB drivers than it says about the underlying performance of the frameworks/languages. The python tests lacked a non-blocking driver. Why not use the PostGRES drivers

Finally an honest "I built this in X time." Gratz. What does it do? I waited a bit for it to finish loading on my phone then gave up. Unless you hit me with an immediate "this is the problem solved" I generally don't spend much time on page

It's interesting to read a different perspective. I found AngularJS was more in tune with how I think and like the way they decouple the code from DOM manipulation. I'm also a big fan of \HTML based templates and having to not touch code wh

Not all of Java culture is like this. There's a ton of really great code out there. Take a look at any Android library. There's no damned Spring anywhere. Or switch to Scala like me.

Please don't confuse problems with SQL ORMs with SQL itself. SQL stores are powerful, flexible, and quite easily queryable. MongoDB is only a good database for developers if it solves the problems that you need to solve in a way that causes

Love it. Really! How difficult would it be to embed a D3 chart in one of the columns? Would that be something tricky to add or could it be made into a column type easily?
