Zero profit theory is based on having heavy competition which utilities do not have. 2.7% is absolutely razor-thin for something that is so capex heavy and with a heavy pension burden.

The article says that 99% of the people striking are wireline employees; not wireless. They're more than likely making well over minimum wage.

Profited makes it sound like their bonuses were $4bn. It's a borderline useless number when framed vs a group. Regardless of what the article says, there is no way those two made that much solely on their own.

For everyone asking why or cynically pointing out that no one went to jail over this, you need to have people agree on what caused all of this before any of that happens.

You could very well be a shareholder of a bankrupt company if execs start going to jail.

Ah, that leads to another one of my rules: if someone is paid commission based on me buying something, I try to scrutinize it just a tiny bit; especially if I have a fiduciary duty to do so.

I avoid buying things that I do not understand and I also avoid buying things that seem too good to be true. If both of those traits happen to reside in the same item, I avoid it even more.

I also had a background check asking for ten years of history. Many of the companies were either out of business or outsourced HR which created issues. I also ran into an issue with job titles not matching exactly or external job title (w

Believe it all comes down to insurance and having someone else to blame. Think about why most jobs use urine instead of hair for drug testing. Hell of a lot cheaper, don't care about accuracy, and just want to be able to say that the
