While there are individual EU HY bonds yielding lower than Treasuries, that is not the market as a whole. To be generous, 30 year Treasuries are currently yielding 2.84%. I'm looking at Bloomberg Barclays Pan-European High Yield inde

I don't know how you can suggest issuing in EUR if you cannot compare the USD interest expense vs what you think they issue under EUR. I'm not trying to be rude but I don't think you know what you are talking about if you are

How much would it cost to hedge the EUR equivalent of USD 16bn of these bonds?

A combination of this and EUR credit is just not as liquid as USD. It looks like the deal is 16bn across 7 tranches. EUR equivalent would be much harder for the market to digest and a lot more difficult to hedge.

Can you link what you're looking at? It sounds like you're conflating yields with returns.

Can you clarify what you mean by a loss here? > Investors bought US bonds at a loss US Treasuries did not have negative yields last year which is the the closest thing I would consider a loss but would depend on the context.

Putting Tesla anywhere near a list of factors for "ending strategic dependence on oil dictatorships" is pure hyperbole at best.

Tesla is raising money and is valued like it's a growth stock and it should. Amazon has been and arguably still is valued as a growth stock but has been internally financed to a much larger degree. There's a massive difference in

That's strictly editorializing on CNBC's part. Howard Marks is known for quite a few things and calling the tech bubble is nowhere near the top of the list.
