^ A 16-lane PCI-E supports 31.51 GB/s of bandwidth. Thunderbolt 2 supports 20Gbps of bandwidth, or 2.5GB/s. So it's actually only 1/12th of the bandwidth.

You really believe that the NSA can't get into Twitter's servers if they want to? They just plant someone in security. What's the easiest way to get into every consumer internet service? Just get someone there on the payroll.
