I was hell banned on HN for mentioning it so this will be my last post, but think about royalties. Do you get any of the things you build? Or if you left your job, would you be legally required to delete all your work and have to pay tax m

Microsoft waits on the sidelines til winners emerge then just buy the winners. Similar to what government is doing except earlier. I guess it works. I don't want to support that though. Time to find a new git host.

Satoshi's white paper talks about this problem and why it's not an issue. It's only 3 pages.

Hey let's all judge each other in the worst possible light by the worst possible allegations. TPW was a visionary that started a company which revolutionized software development. Maybe some of you weren't around back then, but a

Don't listen to risk-averse engineers. You are young, invest in high risk things you believe in. Make it an active investment if you can. Recognize who is giving you boring advice(index funds), look at the risk levels in their life,

It's bigger than that. It's about disenfranchisement of the people. Less than 2% of accredited investors are black, less than 5% women. Capitalism in tech can be thought of as voting for the future with your money. The JOBS act

I plan to create value at a startup where they give me fair ownership of the project I'm working on, and once it's successful I'll live off royalties. Wait what's that about developer royalties?

That's not how you argue a point. California can have both migrating homeless and an uncaring political class.

I don't necessarily agree but the immediate downvotes anyone receives for questioning the EU's pure intentions is interesting. People are either extremely trusting of huge global governments or we're being brigaded.

Sure. QE is buying stock with printed money, inflating stock prices. People with lots of stocks get inflated value. When the inflated value leaves the stock market, it has an effect of deflating the value of the USD. It's a slow in
