I used to run javascripttodaycom. Within ~3 months, it had numerous first result Google searches (something I didn't plan), and the traffic was beyond what I would have ever imagined when starting it. It eventually became the first res

People have been sharing AI-Generated garbage nonstop. They're not even trying. Writing a single prompt to claude, publishing the site, and then spamming it everywhere in the hopes they make a dime. I'm glad HN is doing something

I got another one from a different username right after posting this. And yes, lots of them. I wish I wasn't at work so I could check out what's on that link, lol. If anyone is going to examine it, please post what you find.

My wife came here on a K1 visa from one of the countries on that list. We have an appointment for interview next month (which determines whether or not she can remain in the country). It's always worrying seeing news like this.

That's why I stopped going to HackerOne. My first 3 reports were marked as duplicate. The last report on there was an auth bypass, essentially. They replied: "But you need to show what can be done beyond this". Like, wat? You

"having a say on something", in OP's context, means authority and influence over decisions... People can say whatever they want, yes, but not everyone can "have a say on something".

This absolutely hurts my soul. Pre-covid, I religiously saved silver (and gold). Just bought some every single paycheck for like 6 years. I had coins, jewelry, bars, silverware, etc. I wished my parents had left me a treasure, but they didn

Eh, I've shared your views before. But Amazon affiliate link payouts are trash. The OP made it to the front page of HN, but I'd be surprised if he makes more than $100. It's possible, but probably highly unlikely. Let him the

Yes, the frontend looked AI generated. I see that you redesigned some of it, though. It looks much better. I didn't mean to insult you with my comment. I shouldn't have said that; I apologize.

I didn't "bash" any project. I just said it looked AI-generated, because it looks exactly like a bolt.new or lovable template.

That headshot project looks completely AI generated. The landing page is a full-fledged AI template.

I've experienced this too. Luckily, I switched roles, so I don't have to engage with him so much anymore, but I still get his aggressive attitude every once in awhile. He's made woman employees cry. He's randomly shouted

For the longest time, I wanted to really dive deep into lower-level learning (e.g. C, Assembly, HDL, chips). LLMs temporarily killed my motivation to continue learning C. I wanted to build a clipboard history similar to windows 11, but for

The company I've been at for awhile only uses .NET Framework. For all current projects, and anything new. It's frustrating, especially when I first joined. Could barely find documentation or tutorials regarding this tech stack. Th

I'd recommend going on Thriftbooks and ordering a textbook. I can't remember the exact copy I had years ago when I was self-learning CS, but it was like $4.00 for a really incredible textbook. Now, I don't have a degree, so t

"AI" mode is just going to be the next generation of ads. The AI serving as salespeople, essentially. People will use it so much, they'll trust it, maybe even befriend it (as some have already done). How powerful.
