Another reason I hated snap, when I used Ubuntu, was the performance problems. Opening a url from the snap version of Slack took multiple seconds! The solution to this was to nuke it and install the .deb version. Just completely unacceptabl

It makes a lot of sense given the nature of SBF’s charitable donations and the purported rationale(s) behind them. Kelsey Piper is pretty deeply associated with the EA movement, which is heavily interested in picking the right ways to deplo

It’s interesting to think about how much of a perspective shift this must have been, especially the service oriented bits. Interestingly, I think it might not have even been made completely in the authors’ minds at the time of this proposal

There don't appear to be many hyperlinks. Assuming sequential filenames, gluing them together can be done by: mkdir out; pdftk * cat output out/topo_cat.pdf (also, this requires you to have installed pdftk) A table of con

I don't think 16.1.1 is unaffected. I'm on iOS 16.1.1 and can reproduce it. Blank address bar -> "old " -> crash. The second time I didn't need the space, as others have also reported.

Yeah, I spent a long while (years) using pretty much exactly the solution he describes, as implemented in emacs. It's not as good as a tree, because undo/redo cycles make it very annoying to traverse through the history. I greatly

I didn't mean to imply these were all substitutes for each other - rather that there are both sync and async channels in the list and it seems worthwhile to compare the sync ones against std::sync::mpsc, and the async ones against to

I think I see why this would be useful for things other than navigation - e.g. using avy to drive replacement or multi-selection, "select all X within this paragraph"-type things. But for navigation by word, for example, I tend to

By "substructure jump" do you mean jumping to a character inside a word? Avy can do that! Compare avy-goto-char and avy-goto-word-1 (or avy-goto-word-0). I have a prefix arg setup working with avy that I stole from ace-jump-mode t

That's not an obstacle to a central cache - you can solve that with symlinks. A build tool should make node_modules/foo a symlink to ~/.npm/cache/foo-1.23 if foo 1.23 is what you need. A packaging tool should be abl

It's not the storage used but the repeated downloading, if I understand the complaint correctly. Avoiding the network traffic if you have an exact match should be much faster on a clean build, even if you don't care about disk spa
