That isn't what the parent said. If the highest rating is set such that vehicles that achieve it demonstrate a high level of safety, it would then be preferable if all vehicle makers strived for this rating. Assuming you want to drive

The conclusion is most definitely not "improvements are result of chance rather than treatment". You've also used quotes here but there doesn't appear to be any reference so I can only assume you're quoting yourself

Completely disagree. If the "woo" you describe is so ineffective, placebos wouldn't be a thing. Sure, there are problems that may require some kind of invasive treatment, but there are also a lot that we seem to include in th

This looks vaguely similar to the Volkswagen XL1 [0] - similar internal layout but with a much longer nose. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_1-litre_car

Really slick demo, lots of fun. +1 to adding a leaderboard and then segregating by first attempts and multiple attempts. 1v1 could also be quite fun.

Sure, some things shouldn’t use the subscription model. In the case of streaming services though, I think the subscription model works particularly well. I would much prefer to make a recurring payment and have new content included in my su

Anti-subscription seems like an awfully limiting belief to live by. Why not support services you like and avoid those you don't?

Hi HN! I have been playing with the idea of building a lightweight interactive office map for a while. I finally caved and built this after starting a new job and finding it near impossible to locate anyone on their Google Sheet office map.

I'm getting 504s from the `v1/image/ml/segment-to-face` endpoint with the message "The upstream server is timing out". There were initially auth redirect messages in the console too, but they go away once you l

Can you expand on what you think is not working well? From the couple of videos I tried, it worked extraordinarily well. Even though it's quite slow, the results are still very impressive.

I had a very similar experience a few years ago after travelling to Rarotonga for a holiday. There was little reception for mobile data without a new sim - this turned out to be an absolute blessing. The first day or so was easy, but the ne

I’m always afraid that if I embrace being awake then I’ll find it more difficult to get back to sleep, but I guess what I’m currently doing isn’t exactly working so I’ll have to give this a try.

I’ve got melatonin supplements that definitely help me get to sleep. I’ve found that they don’t always keep me asleep, although I’d still say sleep quality improves with them. Would love to not have to rely on taking something for sleep tho

Personally, I used to be able to listen to a large portion of the top 50 on Spotify without skipping too many. As of late last year, though, I've found that the top 10 are almost exclusively songs made popular on TikTok. I can't s
