jerry is probably incorporating the same philosophy that is highly regarded at apple, google and by many ui designers Still, seems like bad timing for Jerry to demonstrate his highly-regarded design philosophies. YHOO ain't AAPL or GOOG.

For those of you willing to pay for a canonical source on Toyota's philosophy, I heartily recommend The Toyota Way : http://www.amazon.com/Toyota-Way-Jeffrey-Liker/dp/0071392319 It is much, much more than a 'lean system', although one of

Great idea--solves a practical problem (albeit not one that I have). On a different note: do you care how people pronounce your name? My first thought was "Muspy", almost rhymes with "Musky". My second thought (upon seeing the logo) was "Oh

Good. Some of the most useful reports in Google Analytics ("Recency", "Loyalty") are also the most opaque. This could be refreshing if it makes it easier to get at stickiness and returning visitors out of the box. Also: Drill down on bra

In other words, stop making widgets that turn your Facebook friends into zombies and start creating ones that make it easier for people to sell or make things. Or make it easier to be informed (saves time).

A business that has an inherent call option, that could boost its base-line exit value by at least 10x I will go ahead and expose my novice status and ask: what is an inherent call option?

The point you might be missing is that a huge portion of apps/sites that currently use Flash in fact don't need to. No argument here. It's definitely an over-prescribed technology. Maybe the alternatives could use better marketing. "Ja

With WebKit 3.0, will/does SVG have a drawing API as powerful as that of Flash? If not now, when? Fact: IE 6 still represents 29% of all traffic to www.stormpulse.com.

Speaking pragmatically, what should people be using for interactive visuals on the web? I used Flash to create Stormpulse.com ... and I can't help but notice that I've never seen a complex GMaps application run fast .

Forgive me in advance for stirring the pot yet again, but I thought this site was called "Hacker News" because it's meant to carry news of interest to hackers. In which case it makes sense that this will ebb and flow between tech, finance,

This happened to me too when I discovered a relative watching Major League Soccer and then noticed justin.tv in the address bar. I asked him what "PSN" (the logo plastered all over the channel) was all about, and when he didn't know I had t

I am actually looking forward to "smart money" as much for the smart as the money. We are encompassed with so many opportunities that it will be extremely helpful to have another vested party with significant experience to boot.

Yes, the money would be used to pay 2-3 full-time salaries plus office space and possibly incentivize some other development directly beneficial to us. The only urgency is the cyclical nature of the industry; we'd like to be in a good posit

No, we did not come through YC. We did attend Startup School 2007 and we did apply, but it wasn't to be. Thanks for the advice; this is sort of what we have in mind.
