You'd think having credentials at hand would be a 10-second check. What a sad way of handling things.

Same. I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) with 8GB of RAM and I've been doing fine. Sure, there are some hiccups every now and then but it works. I have Spotify, VS Code, Slack, Kitty tmux sessions and more open 24/

A big case in point. > The winner sued the New Hampshire Lottery last month under the name of Jane Doe, in a bid to collect the winnings through a trust to protect her anonymity. Just because it's in writing -- it doesn't mean

I hate this whole new way of handling receipts. If you order via kiosk in Taco Bell, you have your receipt ONLY by text message or email. Yep. No print out option. HOWEVER, if you order via cashier, you CAN print it out.

It definitely will and more people will definitely watch. How can these companies be so out of touch? It's mind-baffling.

There's no reason why you can't slap some CSS (flexbox, cssgrid!) with some ES6 JavaScript linked on an index.html on a Netlify server... Loads super fast.

Dang. I asked my job for a PluralSight account or if they have one and they said they'll "look into it."

Which is pretty redundant to say. No one would say the opposite and everyone expects an improved version. It's just fancy PR talking points.

Same thing for picking up prescription at CVS/Walgreens. They make you verify your phone number and address. Every. Single. Time. In public. It's a shame how silly it all is.

It's most definitely a dark pattern. Just how reddit now prompts you to enter an email when you register but it's not marked as required and it doesn't say optional either.

Not to mention they are still asking for references. Big yikes, Firebase.

But at-will states can word it so they were not fired for it. There would be many ways these employees can be dismissed and it would never be labelled for 'striking'.

Fubo is $55 and Sling is $35-55. Disney+ will soon start charging... And it starts to add up and we're back to where we started. Also, I believe Disney+ will fail because there are not enough Disney diehards who want a subscription spe

Agree, and with the unfortunate history of robo-calls, more and more people are letting calls go straight to voicemail. At what point will cold-calling not be essentially worth the effort?

Ever since I've started using Todoist, my life has gotten a lot more structured. With pro membership, its feature pay in dividends. From reminders to tags to "English-pseudo code" query language for task due dates and more. I

When it comes down to it, we're not paid to code. We're paid to solve problems with code and if paying you $75/hr as a contractor to build me three webpages with CI/CD capabilities is it, then off you go.

You can't expect logic from people all the time. Why both making it restricted area if they can have some schmuck in a SUV pull up every time someone enters?

Nethack, among other games, has inspired my try at the dungeon crawler RPG that I work on during my free-time. But, I must admit, the code's not very good... [1] https://github.com/delaford/game

Isn't there a story about how a certain wine nobody bought but once they jacked up the price, its perceived value was higher and people thought it tasted better and it sold more?

A cart before the horse. Who gets the most profit? The people who finance the project or the people who actually do the project? In a just world, would it be 50/50? Seems skewed... without the builders, there would no buildings.

At some point, the government is going to have to realize that the internet has long passed the days of moving slow. Putting unrealistic restrictions (only works in IE, can only use .Net) is going to hinder the progress of its development.
