Sometimes I do a search on google, and roughly half the results are meaningless gobbledegook. Clearly these results are this kind of project. It makes me wonder what percentage of websites are just revenue-earning sites with absolutely no u

it's fascinating how this phenomenon works. I grew up listening to cassettes I had made from recording records. These recordings had flaws introduced by the cassette mechanism, drop outs, warbles, etc. I was used to it and didn't think abou

with the economy in the state it's in today, I don't think many are contemplating a new computer. I thought they would wait until the fall. I'm not planning to upgrade until at least when 10.6 is released.

The main problem is this guy is still using a G4 Mac. My iMac G4 isn't even powerful enough to render a YouTube video smoothly for chrissakes.

Saw a recent documentary "Independent Lens" that was about the Fermi Lab. Said it had lost funding a while ago. Good to hear it didn't completely shut down.

HN will never succeed as long as it is a closed system. In that I mean that I have 42 karma points and I still cannot vote any article or comment down. Only being able to vote up is pretty meaningless so I never vote. Reddit is far better i

Vista Fail. I've been using XP since Jan 2004 with no issues, no re-install, still works fine. Why the hell would I upgrade to downgrade my performance. Who needs a bloated candy-colored version of Windows? A new OS should be faster, not sl

I hope Steve gets well soon. I'm afraid if he leaves Apple again, we'll see a repeat of the slow slide they experienced from 1985-1998.

The longest I've ever had a Mac was six years, when I used a Mac Plus from 1989-1995, when I got my dads old IIsi. Then in 1996 I bought a Quadra 605, and in 1998 I bought a PowerMac 7200, and in 2000 I bought a new iMac. In 2001 I bought a
