Here, someone left this(1) link above. This is a better practical response than just trying to win an argument for the sake of winning an argument. https://github.com/Ranchero-Software/NetNewsWire/issues/491

Is that what you read in two of my messages above? Interesting! BTW, NNW is not charging as of yet. What I was talking about in two of my messages above, is the adoption issue with disparate platforms without the availability of read-state

Feedly is limited with free account. The point I'm making is that NNW should be using its own service to maintain user's "read" states between its desktop and mobile apps. I'm not a big innoreader fan but their mobi

What is a good use case of such "free" mobile app if the sync feature is behind a third party paid service? Am I expected to always check my feeds only on my mobile? How useful is that? As much as I would use NNW right away but it

MCSE was good, back in the days, prior to the proliferation of Internet and virtualization technologies. It taught fundamental networking and bare server under the hood. Not sure what new learners learn these days amid all the virtual abstr

Agree. I have once built such a space with people I knew. It was simply via a listserv. The key ingredients you describe, are accurate. I have also been part of such small communities on other platforms built specifically with these ideals.

I did the same sometimes ago. I had a very large number of messages so I had to break things down into separate mbox according to years and months. I then just loaded the file into the email client. I wanted to sync the mailbox with Gmail (

You don't have to install this. I was not aware until fairly recently. The pre-installed Dictionary app is awesome and very handy for all types of research (not just word lookup).

This is very nice and effective. I just wish you had spent time in using the real world examples related to the server configs, instead of using the examples of hello-world, list of a, b, c, etc.

None of the teaching methods for programming has worked for me if I were to look at it from a fresh perspective (I'm in computers but programming is not my day to day work). After learning the basics (easy/easy/lost) of prett

It's good. This is how Dr.Racket and Khan Academy pretty much teaches programming. But note that for a brain which is not naturally inclined towards programming (and numbers), the examples increasingly get very complicated and fast. I

I agree. I only want my up-to-date data (which is feeds in this context) to be available in a bare-minimum fashion on my mobile, when I'm away from my desktop. The argument I make above is based on the fact that when it comes to RSS, y

In this day and age, how could people use desktop reader without syncing feeds when they're on their phones? I don't get it. NetNewsWire on Mac is pretty good looking and fast software. But it is useless without its counterpart on

There's really no conversion from VMware to Kubernetes. You need VMs for K8s. Unless you're entirely not going to use VMware for your VMs; you will need virtual machines to run your K8s cluster.

I don't like to downplay such efforts (education in particular) but as a really big organization, who is putting its first foot out of the K8s door, this is a really lackluster approach. You basically have video lectures at this "

Good point. I think “Hollywood” got eaten up by globalization (China) and easy route of super hero movies all-the-time. The Disney’s and big studios alike have no patience to make money off of creativity. Why do we even need Toy Story 4 to

It depends on the age of the kids, and personal situation of course. But as an app specifically targeted for kids - particularly by a big company - it is the absolute worst possible thing on the Internet.

FF was also behind in using auto update the software without user interaction. That was a big change from user’s perspective (who didn’t much care that a certain service was also always running behind the scenes).
