That article is a textbook example of cherry picking. If you pick the height of a boom as your baseline, of course poverty will increase during a major recession.

Not total privacy since the network knows who's on both ends, or at least that you're on one end, but as long as you can tunnel encrypted traffic over it via a hotspot, I'm not sure how that could be cracked.

Are you suggesting this is a complete waste of time based on your own needs? Well, fine. But I'm sure there are plenty of valid use cases for it and at the very least the architecture and libraries involved are HN-worthy. Seems like th

You don't have to do anything. Relax. Any open source project leverages other open source projects. How is this "stack" any different?

Nice article, but I think some of the ideas need some clarification. > For example, keys of a Map object are value equality checked... This has a lot of really nice implications. I'm not sure how immutability helps here. And it'

I thought this article was a new use-case of FB's Flux initially. Great name, but perhaps the headline could have read "Netflix Flux: ..." or "Traffic Flux: ..."

I know there are big ethical problems with my "next step", but do you really care if you're killed by a murderer or a careless police officer? Or a careless safety inspection that leads to an accident? Incompetence that leads

I'm sympathetic to that argument, but the logical next step is to say that they're also too incompetent to protect your life, and then it's the wild-west. I believe in extreme circumstances, society should reserve the right

Your headline would also only tell half of the story, because we don't know whose "ways" the administration rejected. They, the administration, spent time looking into something that they later concluded was wrong. Right? WaP

I'm not sure I understand your point. What does material possession and power (I assume over others) have to do with freedom? These hackers have power (their ability to obtain government data and subvert its power) and the Chinese gove

"Grassroots" hacking isn't a good strategy for a state that wants to cover up its tracks. So I'm suspicious of these claims. Perhaps the government makes it worth the hackers' while to hack the USG instead of it. Ju

Is Sweden a socialist country, according to your metrics? Government spending makes up just over half of their economy. We're somewhere between 35-38%, federal, state & local. I'll leave it at that.
