I was going to say that one annoying thing about these macros is you can't press . to repeat the last macro. It is annoying having to count out 143 lines and then do 143@x or what I tend to do is do it in batches of say 20 until I get

I think we tried it just a few weeks ago and it still had the problem. If I recall correctly (and it's very possible I dont, but I can check at work tomorrow), our test is to parse some json with the cl-json library. That library relie

Common Lisp does not run in LX zones.. at least Clozure common lisp doesn't. Apparently Clozure does something 'ungodly' to the signal stack which just throws the kernel and ends up crashing out. Chances are, these days anywa

I get your point. I never found Servant a huge problem - it was the framework I started learning Haskell with and I found it was a really good fit. But - I can see others may not get it at first. It is quite different from other frameworks.

I guess it depends on your definition of "really easy". I'm not saying it's the easiest thing in the world, rather it is something that any developer can get if they are willing to bash their head against it for a time (

Yep. I agree reading other peoples Haskell can be a challenge. There is a real culture of making your code as terse as possible, which I think makes it easier to read once you know what you are doing, but makes it harder for beginners. Luck

Not 100% sure, I'll have to look when I get home this evening. I think it may not be the thin one as it is thicker than the rest of the case, but don't totally know off hand what I should be looking at to determine it..

I have just installed powertop and updated the settings. It doesn't seem to have made any difference... but that's probably because I don't know what I am doing. I'll read up on it further. Thanks for the tip.

I've just unplugged my x220 and it is telling me it has 4:36 battery remaining. I only have firefox open and not doing anything else, so that 4:36 is probably quite a significant overhead. It will drop as soon as I do something.. Yup,

Alternatively, if you don't want to spend any more effort on it, why not find a coauthor. Someone can take the text you have written, update it and refactor it and generally fix it up.

If I recall somewhere around SBCL 1.2 they changed the way the backquote worked (totally fine for them to do that as it wasn't specified in the standard..) which broke the Let over Lambda macro. I think CCL still works. The code here

You can do way less in Elm than you can do in TypeScript. Counterintuitively this makes your code much more robust. Elm is far more opinionated. There is only one framework you can use. The type system is much stronger with no escape hatche
