Curious why you are not worried about the USA which has double the co2 emmissions per capita compared to China, and about 8x compared to India?

I suspect not. With Typescript even with strict typing, mutating state is still possible (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong..). This adds an extra layer of complexity to the refactoring process. With Elm, mutation is impossible - ever

Incremental compilation. Once you get the first build done, subsequent builds are much faster. Also a project is likely to be split up over multiple crates, so a lot of the changes you make will require building and testing just that one cr

Actually, yes I seem to remember it doing that a while ago. I think my Emacs setup has messed up somehow. Now I just get: Debugger entered--Lisp error: (void-variable k) And then a stack trace. No option for restarts. It works if I

The postgres docs are excellent, https://www.postgresql.org/docs/13/runtime-config.html I have seen tutorials where folks go over the most essential settings, but I can't seem to find the ones I have used now

Never run postgres with the default configuration. It comes with some extremely conservative settings so you are unlikely to get decent performance out of the box.

Not just javascript, I built an app in Objective C. It stopped working after IOS 8 (I think) and I no longer had access to a Mac to update it. I too am in the stage of just replying to customers to explain why it isn't available.

I've recently had to dump Emacs for Vim. I found with using Rust Analyzer on Emacs, it would regularly lock up for a number of seconds. With Vim (NeoVim anyway) this does not occur.

For me it's not so important that the keys are mechanical, but that it is split. It is so much more pleasant to type with my hands straight out in front of me than cramped together in the centre. The fact that most split keyboards are

I could touchtype like crazy on qwerty before. It's possible because I learned dvorak when I was older - early 40s - I only have space in my brain for a single layout now..

This reminds me of the only company I've worked in that attempted to adopt scrum. We almost spent more time debating about whether a particular practice was scrum or not than we did actually doing that practice.
