That sounds like what I see with Plex, too. It definitely doesn't get it when the intros are unique. And if there's something later that's the same each show (an explanation of the game show, etc) it'll target it as th

I think this is almost a tautology, to the point that I'm surprised more people don't realize it. If you ask the AI to do more work, it uses more tokens. If you do more of the work instead, fewer tokens are used. I've been l

Oh, there were absolutely people giving good answers. I'm just talking about the same kind of person who now just posts what an LLM says, rather than do any research.

I think some may think they're helping like that, but I'm sure there are quite a few who enjoy the feeling of being a notable figure in the community because they answer so many questions. These people have always existed and gave

A quick AI Google search and some fact-checking later, and yeah. At least as of 2 years ago, Thunderbird was getting 3x the contributions that Blender was. It just goes to show you how badly managed Thunderbird is, since Blender is doing

In this case, they aren't. I woke up the other day to a notification that my LG monitor driver was installed, with a little window on how to use the on-screen crap. Absolutely useless, since the buttons for the monitor are right there

I wouldn't ban renting. Instead, perhaps we ban rentals of unspecified length. The customer has to know what they're getting. Either they own it, or they're renting for a certain period. Nothing ambiguous.

The example in the article says the police took her phone. Then her "attorney" gets on to talk instead. Yes, having a secret code is probably the right answer. My wife's family always has, but mine doesn't. I suppose

It's worse than that. If you don't add it, what's to stop someone else from adding it? A lot of them are just "press okay and it's added". There's no security and nothing to stop people from adding uncl

You're missing the point that it isn't worse than what's already out there for them . They've implemented only the parts they need, and removed all the crap that just complicates the system for them. They've made

I have used and use both regularly. The IDE makes the normal stuff really fast, but the CLI enables things that just can't be done in the IDE. I quite often ended up being the guy that dealt with things quickly, especially in an emer

I've been trying to figure that out myself, and I think it involves things being locked away at the start, and unlocking them as you meet certain criteria. Currently, the only criteria is money. You can literally just buy anything at

I started playing Farm Simulator 2025 recently because a friend wanted me to. Even now, I really long for a proper game with progression, etc. But it's really just a way to drive machines. And I find myself wanting to do that, ev

That was their estimate at the time, based off the information they had. You can't ask more of someone than that. Either they estimated poorly, or it ended up the lesser portion of their estimate after all. After all, unless the esti

I find that the Ian Knot almost never comes undone on its own for me. Shoes, shorts, whatever. It's been great for like a decade now. I haven't been motivated to find anything better.

I did this for a while after seeing that video, but after some of my shorts ended up tightening into a knot that I couldn't get loose easily, I gave up on it. I instead just use the "Ian Knot" that I use to tie my shoes. It&

Alternatively, 98% is plenty . If your business plan requires you to capitalize on more than 98% of the market, it's already a failure. It'll never happen. As always, it's an "it depends" situation. If your userb

You're paying for a service with known flaws. They do not guarantee correct answers. Also, LLMs don't "make mistakes". They don't think or act. Every single thing they output is a hallucination. It just happens

I took a computer class in college (like 25 years ago now?) and corrected the teacher multiple times every class . And it was like 95% things that were in the book that was issued, so I could even point out the page it was on. It was abs

Because LLMs don't think, and a mistake implies logic. "Hallucination" is an attempt to differentiate the problem and further emphasize its lack of basis in reality.

They did it for a very short time. The community backlash was so bad that they recanted immediately. I'm not at all surprised that Ubiquiti is getting ahead of that and promising it from the start.

I think anything can be abused, and too many people don't have a security-first mindset. One of the advantages of JWTs is that you don't have to check your database or filesystem to make sure the the user is valid and logged in.
