Windows is slow af compared to Linux on the same hardware when I’m doing anything with Docker or Node.js/npm/yarn. The cli is incompatible with bash. I also can’t disable telemetry and other things I don’t want. It’s also missing

Chrome is and always has been a native desktop application. Putting the word desktop in quotes doesn’t change that. I thought the satire was the suggestion that standard web apps can replace a desktop apps.

Sure, everyone wants to be old on the Internet. I hear these twenty somethings constantly claiming that they’re in their sixties cuz it’s cool. /s No, to tolerate something you need to have some measure of control over it in the first

Yeah I've only been programming since around 1981. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you're not the only old timer around here. "Whatever that is supposed to mean", but you've still been seeing it? That makes no sense

Personally I would want freedom to just put whatever URL I want, as my search engine. Every popular desktop browser has this feature and I don't see why it could not exist on the iPhone. I bet Apple would claim that it's "tak

Now it's too late for a trade war with China. We already gave them all of the ammo over the past 60 years. Our systems are going to collapse before long and China will be ready to take the reigns.

There are plenty of Tim Cooks around. THE Tim Cook is only in his position because of luck. Lucky to be born white white, in America and lucky in timing and connections.

What happens then is that the new Linux user soon needs a newer version of some package and they have to add a third party repo to their stable system and after having done this a few times, soon an update from one of them will cause the in

Microsoft understands the value of being able to develop once and run everywhere. That's why both Java and the web almost upended their business. It's not just a monetary/time/effort value to Microsoft or other developer

OK thanks. I thought the major concern was the number of people getting it not the number of severe cases... I'm not really sure why it is this way. I would think lessening the spread of it would be the highest priority.

Do you have to pay Apple yearly and obey Apples rules in order to get an enterprise license? Yes you do. It's $299/year and you have to be a company of a certain size and you need a D & B number. It's the same deal that e
