True - I'm in my late 40s in London and accepted some time ago I will never own a home. If UK renters had the same protections as they do in eg Germany it wouldn't be such a precarious existence.

Nice but I don’t trust the suction box top method - though maybe it works if you can guarantee the box strength.

It’s refreshing to see a problem that’s easy to identify.

I hope there's a young female Japanese biker using a 50-year-old man's face on their instagram posts.

I wonder if subsidised door cameras (and dashcams while we're at it) would also reduce crime. So sad for Sarah's family and friends!

I’m not sure what this is describing - is it a thing that allows hires video to play on lowres displays?

Not kidding someone could add filters to the images to see different aspects of the view.

We are so lucky we had 2020 science to deal with this rather than in previous decades. I wonder how our current efforts will seem to scientists from decades in the future!

I gave up booze in Dec 2019 as a (temporary?) experiment so lockdown has been helpful for me as I don’t have to not drink with friends in bars. But I know lots of people miss it and I hate seeing business owners in trouble.

If the stories are true about Apple AR glasses I’d weirdly enjoy a virtual stroll around IKEA from home.

How about in warfare - weren’t weapons ‘improving’ through the centuries?

One of the weird things in photos from the 60s or 70s is how slim everyone looks.

I agree with this response 100%. Don’t use valuable mental calories on this. Just adapt. Use the saved energy on something more deserving of your time.

Is there a league table (similar to the global corruption index?) which shows which industries attract the most prosecutions?

In a fairer world people would end up in jail for this catastrophe. It’s been a gigantic scam start to finish.

I would see films in cinemas if I could be guaranteed a calm uninterrupted experience. A big problem for me is people talking, using phones etc. I don’t want to spoil their evening either by making a scene I think it’s just I’m no longer a

Am I more valuable to YouTube as a Premium subscriber at £12/month or not subscribing and watching ads?
53.
by wayanon 6y ago
Yes it makes YouTube free of all ads. Another nice feature is background audio continues to play when youre out of the app. Best £12 month I spend. It’s £15 if you pay via the app so it’s better to subscribe when logged in to YouTube.com

I wonder if somehow creators could gift YouTube Premium to their subscribers so they still wouldn’t see ads? (Could a sponsor cover YT premium costs for say a month at a time?)
