I think it's informative to know that all phones lose signal when held certain ways but their method just seems childish. I'd rather see them report bandwidth loss when held or a video showing that some phones can't make calls when held due

ARP-spoofing can be detected although I'm not sure how many networks actively do this. Being able to decrypt all internal packets passively is a big deal.

I haven't finished the article but I'm guessing his resume isn't stellar or he has no networking. I had no problems finding a job 2 years ago but this may have been to me being a CS major. Everyone I knew and still keep in touch with also

High school didn't have to be a distraction. Did you take the most advanced courses offered? Did you attempt to graduate early? I don't remember what I actually learned in High school but it helped me get into University and get a job. G

Yep, this piece really threw me off on the article. He may be an antenna expert but he definitely doesn't know much about product design. OF COURSE reception when being held is a design requirement. Regulation requirements must trump aes

I have a blackberry - not a fanboy. I've watched multiple videos where data transfer rates dropped significantly when the antennae are touched in the same way making me think this is not just a software problem. Either way, software probl

I'm pretty sure large batches of phones that lose signal when held is a defect. I'm glad you can't reproduce it, it means that not all phones are defective. Many of the videos show the phones going from full bars to 1 or zero. This is no

I think the turn would be considerably slower due to the extra friction in the somersault. When swimming straight, there is a "narrow frontal profile" and little form drag but that isn't true when spinning in the water. I wouldn't have gue

I hate to admit it but Apple can do whatever they want with their platform and has demonstrated they would rather hurt competitors at the cost of end users/developers. The sad thing is many end users (read comments on the blog) think it's

Generalizations suck, I don't think the main reason for the iPhone success was because they had a "closed system". "The people griping about Apple’s “closed system” are generally people who are new to the industry and didn’t realize how bad

One Apple blogger accusing another Apple blogger of being a fanboi? Does this really need to be top of HN? Edit: Can you at least reply when you down vote? I know this was voted to the top of HN so it deserves to be there.
