No way. Loving my current position(s) way too much. But also, if I did leave the field with some cash, I’d probably go be a backwoods flight instructor.

Yves Delorme make some lovely Jacquard bath sheets. If you don't blanche at spending $100+ on a single towel. ;)

Similar, after a crash, I reinstalled Windows, but using my Azure work account and a PIN to login. However, the feeling of not 'owning' this machine anymore just became too irritating. After that I installed CentOS 7 on machines I

Here in Spring Texas, I’m seeing rolling blackouts since Tuesday pm. Few hours on. Few hours off. Having a gas fire and stove is killing it for us. I’m planning on switching one of our water heaters to gas so we can be covered for hot water

Tiny bug: Under Features > RSS, the bottom of the page still mentions Simpleblog instead of Haven.

I emailed them today, and someone replied in 10 minutes. I expect they are quite busy, and China / HK obviously have their CV-19 issues. The shipping page can be helpful for when the next batch will ship. https://www.pine64.

I did wonder about this, due to consumption of ... values / refs (terminology?) ... in Rust. Thanks for adding this important detail.

Gosh. I got lucky that the m48 from my 6s restored successfully to my 11 pro. Love that software.

I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different. Kurt Vonnegut Yup. Gotta keep some perspective.

For old-school meaning about '85 or so, 'optical mouse' meant a mouse on a special gridded pad that worked optically. See this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sun_optical_mouse.jp... That's

Or you can adapt around it. I'm super lucky and 1) Work from home 2 days a week, and 3) When I do travel to the office, I rotate my day forward to start from 5:30 am and finish at 2:30 - 3 pm to avoid traffic. 15 years ago in Houston,

My 8 year likes to chat in Roblox. Lots of the games are sort of a surrogate open world / chatroom type deal. It seems close enough to the same thing, but for today's older kids, I'd have to imagine they are all on Facebook o

Yeah, it's kind of goofy. In my experience of owners, including myself, people are super precious about their WRXs and they are pampered and fawned over beyond all reason. Mine was festooned with aftermarket parts, stickers, lighting,

I bought my WRX STI without worrying about bothering to drive it. I already had a WRX I was trading on it, but still. It was kind of neat buying it like that.

Yep! We had something similar show up in my Houston suburb. I read the gist of it and tossed it in the trash. If I want solar panels, I will pay outright, or borrow as needed to install the system. Why in the heck should I enter into a cont

Excellent. Full marks to Apple on this. Those could be anyone's kids being taken advantage of. Apple can't risk their integrity being associated with what Facebook are pulling.

Here in Texas, grocery store workers often start around $10 / hr. Borderline living wage, but a lot better than being exploited by some BS company like InstaCart.

I will not use any of these gig economy BS companies. They're often exploitative of workers and this is just exactly the kind of thing that reinforces my decision to never stay at an AirBNB, never take Lyft, Uber etc.

The lack of obsolescence is terrible news for Dell and HP. Ran into a client this afternoon still running his seismic workflows on an old HP EliteBook 8570w with a couple big monitors, big SSD and 16 Gigs of memory. That family was launched
