XML-separated values? It sounds like some kind of (easily detected) side-band, or an xkcd cartoon.

We are already suffering from severe austerity after the collapse in 2008. Pay for the bottom 70% of people in the Western World falls further and further behind. The present political mess, including in the US and in the UK, and across Eur

Yes, and I've had to limit myself pretty severely on eating out. Flip-side, is that I can put more effort into having good food. I eat enough bread that I like to bake a loaf every week, and having fresh home-made wholewheat bread avai

I got my current job from a resume like this. My boss specifically commented how my resume wasn't full of bullshit.

That's probably just portion size, which seems to be an American disease. I'm from the U.K. originally and I regard US portions as typically about 3 or 4 meals. Further, I've just managed to drop my weight from 188 to 168 lbs

Wow, new to me too. I had never thought of that. Oh Christ, it could be awful. Luckily, and as an unremarkable looking male, I'm still clinging to a cube, and the noise there is bad enough.

Finally something that traumatizes me, as much as my children. In all seriousness though, my daughters moved into the same room for about a month in response to the 'Killer Clown' (pennywise etc.) stories that were doing the round

I did something like this in Visual Basic and submitted it to PC PLUS in the UK, back in the early 90's. It was (yay!) published as recognit.bas (VB) and I'd be really happy if someone still has a copy. It recognized just numbers

Yeah, my 7 y/o got a bit off her depth in a hotel pool once and was doing this. In fact she did it like 3 times, and I had to rescue her each time. So it's really stuck with me that people drown 'very quietly', and to st

My experience of eliminating RSI: 1) Consider getting a big trackball and learning to use it with your wrong hand, 2) Get a better keyboard, 3) Work slower, 4) Walk as much as you can, 5) Lose weight, 6) Manage stress. In common with many o

Lol, I have a couple lying around I had earmarked for building a midi interface for. Maybe my 8-y/o daughter will 'grow into them' as she is the only person in the house with any ability to play keyboards.

Hmmm, the Boyer-Moore indexing in Go takes 2 x as long as the naive linear search. Now I feel bad for wasting an hour wrestling with Go weirdness to get my program to compile.
