I don't really believe that either. Improved missiles are now able to shoot down the U2, and maybe get close to the SR-71. That makes these planes a liability now, when over developed territories such as the former USSR. Both were formerly

Right, but put together a 'recycling company'. What's the cheapest way when you don't have access to skilled labor? Probably to just melt it all down and skim off the 1% or 2% of gold...

Microsoft puts out some interesting videos, but I've always had the impression that Apple was more about just 'hacking something up', hence the Steve Jobs quote, "we could do a phone with this", on playing with an early mockup of how an iPa

An HP ZR24w is less than $400. If you're looking at a screen for extended periods, then it's worth spending some cash. This particular monitor is also 1920x1200, which is a pretty good resolution, WUXGA I think, like the big Dell Precision

I believe the phone phones home to Apple to verify its unlock status, and this is only known for the store unlocked ones. Hence the 'Successfully unlocked' message when you restore an unlocked phone.

Why yes, yes it was. Mine still works, and is currently playing BBC Radio 4 in the other room. I think I will go get it unlocked. This is great news from AT&T, but kind of exasperating, since I splashed out $702 for an unlocked iPhone 4

In small quantities. 25% of calorie intake as fructose, like many Americans, and the liver floods your system with fat.

A lot of people learned to trust their BS detector. Mine had already been primed with XML "XSLT can map anything to anything!", and Enterprise Java was just more of the same. It's funny that Javascript and WebGL are cleaning up in the brows

Ahhh, if I remember right, the whole thing is basically a wing, and will fly at some slight positive angle of attack. As far as the model goes, it is probably constructed to be extremely light. It certainly appeared to have quite sprightly

I think you heard a couple of things wrong. For starters, there are pathways for breaking down fat, storing it, and burning it in the body. Secondly, refined sugars incorporating fructose are all about equivalently bad. Thirdly, when you go

If you have enough power, almost anything will fly. $100 (US foam kit, order electronics etc., straight from HobbyKing in Hong Kong) or so and few evenings work and you can make something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPATzx-

I hope Sophie Wilson is reading this, as that microcontroller probably isn't far off the BBC Micros that were originally used to prototype the ARM instruction set. I bet nobody then imagined anyone would emulate un*x on a chip being emulate

Here's a KickStarter idea: 1. Make a micro-dock for the iPhone that includes a functional tiny keyboard. 2. For super cool points, make it look like a Compaq 5250 (Pentium class) laptop, with scaled proportions. The screen on those was 800x

One layout that works well is small / tiny offices around an external wall, with conference rooms, bathrooms, corridors etc in the middle. My current job is at quite old building (70's) with a floor laid out like this, and it's just fantast

It's all relative. The first few ARM chips ran at 4MHz and gave a 12MHz 80286 a severe run for its money. We're now at 100's of times faster...

The cynical might suspect that the idea of providing state-subsidized kindergarten to the very young, in order to promote happier children and less-stressed parents, might be something that wouldn't make it into the WSJ.
