On the bright side, if you are forced to write AI code, at least reviewing PRs of AI generated slop gives your brain an exercise, albeit a frustrating one.

Impressive. I don't think I've ever come close to cutting my hand on an avocado, even when cutting them ultra thin, whereas I have nicked my hand a few times cutting an onion. Avocados don't move when cutting. Onions do move

Yeah, here in TN we're getting a new type of "small" nuclear power plant by 2030, sponsored by Google / Kairos Power.

I would qualify that by saying developers who do not have Product Owner skills and Product Owners who do not have developer skills will be made obsolete. Having both eliminates a feedback loop and the LLM enables you to get shit done fast.

Exactly, a big part of public school is the "daycare" aspect of it. LLMs cannot provide that.

Heh, especially the non-major freshman classes. A few weeks in and half the seats are empty compared to the first day of class.

I will say that it is amusing that loading speeds is the argument for sticking with Chrome. Chrome loads faster so that you can see all of those ads faster and have to take the time to close each one of them, hehe! If the slop doesn't

I was infected and it disables chrome security flags (you'll see a banner in Chrome indicating this) and probably a bunch of other nasty things. I unplugged my Ethernet, turned off the computer, bought a new SSD and installed fresh cop

Hit me. Disables security in Chrome. I will be wiping everything. Changed passwords already, but I assume they stole everything.

Are they? Cursor's Accept / Reject feature for each change it makes in each file is nice whereas I have to use a diff tool to review the changes in Claude Code. Also, if I go down a prompt alley that's a dead end, Cursor has

Some people such as myself are bad test takers and need to try over and over to figure things out. I was homeschooled and got a 15 on my ACT. I haven't taken an IQ test, but I imagine it would be pretty mediocre. It took me forever to

I liked the response overall, the only thing I find strange is the importance of training new devs. I was never trained, depending on what you consider training to be. Perhaps my homeschooled education, which was mostly being handed textboo

My MAGA brother doesn't let his kids watch PBS kids because of the "non-traditional parenting" and diversity. Daniel Tiger isn't getting the discipline he expects.

Ditto, I love JetBrains, but cannot ignore Cursor. I use the IntelliJ shortcuts / Darcula extensions to help with familiarity. Among the ones you mentioned, I also tried Gemini Code Assist JetBrains extension, but it doesn't integ

I think they will be in business, but don't pretend products will be supported. Wouldn't surprise me if Datastore / App Engine go away in the future. The number of APIs I have had to migrate over the past 5 years using GCP is

Yeah, they certainly aren't ahead in the IDE space. I tried Gemini Code Assist Enterprise today and they didn't bother taking the extra step to inject the code for you --like Cursor does. I'd rather not do these manual steps.

Not too bad, but here in Memphis most power lines are old and above ground, so any moderate system coming through will knock out a significant chunk of the grid.

One thing I have setup on my computer is a custom DNS server that routes traffic by default to 8.8.8.8 (Google) but allows me to route certain domains (ex. ones you want to sniff) to your own webserver. Half the time there isn't even p

True, good code organization creates patterns and patterns create efficiency because humans are good at following them. When code is scattered and/or inconsistent in its design, I feel less productive. NestJS and similar modular framew
