I've been using Fedora since version 36. It can become unresponsive when running out of RAM. True. Never had any of those problems. It literally just works. Would you mind uploading that png file so I can try it?

Modern 4chan is just a shadow of its former self. Back in the day it was a popular place on the internet where anyone could just go to and post. No verification, no captchas, minimal moderation and rules. This led mostly to chaos and illega

4chan is probably one of the least brain damaging sites kids can go to these days. It has porn and stupid memes, true. But so does google if you turn the safe search off. It's the corporate run sites and services with ai powered recomm

I tried Kagi twice and found out that its search results are no better than what any other free search engine can deliver. Why is it shilled on HN so much? Am I missing something?

Touchscreens work worse for older people. Their skin is not as conductive and because of that they often seem to struggle with swiping and gestures.

Try intermittent fasting. It's easy. It gives your gut a chance to rest. For me it helped with weight control and slightly improved my overall well being. Later I also eliminated sugar from my diet and reduced caffeine intake to minimu

I just don't share your point of view. I think KDE Plasma screenshot utility has a decent UX. You just press Print Screen key and then either press Enter to capture the whole screen or drag your mouse to select a region and then confir

I know but those add-ons are: - Very often untrusted third party software downloaded via a forum link. - Have no guarantee of long term support. - Are another layer of complexity to learn and maintain which is completely not in line with wh

Nothing wrong with nested menus. The problem is that plasma has a classic File menu inside of a hamburger menu hidden under a "More" button with a whole set of duplicated options that can be found in other parts of the interface.

Also Kodis interface is terrible. I couldn't make a more convoluted and hard to navigate interface for TVs even if I tried.

So where are those big protests and public calls for online age verification? It all seems to be coming from the very top. I have not heard of anyone that actually want any of this. The fact that politicians are to be excluded from European

For me it's mostly a matter of principle. I'm against online tracking and I will do everything I can to not be monetized. Also clicking reject is not that difficult and if a website tries to make it difficult I just close the tab.

I don't think I ever used the ultra wide camera in my phone. I find the default wide angle already too wide for most use cases. For some reason every phone includes one but not a ~50mm equivalent. Weird.
