I Googled NIMBY. It seems like a non-conversation enhancing passive aggressive term.

Yes I was using the non-free version. It was working fine until I'd set the machines to auto-update then one day found out they had zero connectivity after an update. I thought about going around to each machine and manually trying to

There's no easy answer, the Linux Desktop world is more fractured today than ever. I use and like Ubuntu, Debian 11 has had driver issues for me. I don't like RPM distros. For Ubuntu, I had to uninstall snapd and pin it to never b

I do the same, pin snap. For Firefox I just download it, it lets me update it from its Help menu then offers to restart itself. I don't use Chromium, use Chrome. It does seem like Canonical is trying to push away all but corporate user

I used Teams on Linux recently in Chrome since Microsoft doesn't seem to offer a native client download any more and it ran fine, audio and video. I didn't notice any sluggishness.

I tried I guess it was SuSE back in the mid-2000's. It was good for an RPM distribution. I'm not an RPM fan though. I've seen the RPM repo corrupt itself on SuSE, Red Hat before the split they did when they created RHEL and l

There are some great web extensions for a lot of things. I don't use any of them because most of them require permissions to read data across all sites, which makes sense for them to work; but I'm not using any of them.
