You need the right type of education. Being a highly trained engineer does not necessarily help, but you don't see a lot of historians falling for this type of stuff.

If taking a year off is a worthwhile thing to do in life, then right at the beginning of your working life is the best time to do it. That's when your value to employers is the lowest, as you don't have any experience yet. Each ye

There's a difference between licensing and certification. A license is when the government says you need to meet some requirements to practice. A certification is when some entity, usually a board or industry group certifies that you a

That some concentration camps in other countries were also death camps is entirely the point. They are not the same thing, but they're just one step removed. In fact, thousands of people died in the American camps even though there was

This incident is actually so much worse than the George Floyd incident in my mind. The police force as an institution decided that it would be okay to bust down the door of the home without identification and with guns drawn, knowing that i

If things are as good as they've ever been then how come on one side of the political spectrum there's a broad movement to "make America great again" and on the other there's a mass movement taking to the streets? D

All of this talk about what companies should pay is missing the point. The market determines what salaries will be. Someone good enough for Facebook is good enough for a number of bay area companies that would pay top dollar, so Facebook ha

Domain names are a limited resource and some are more valuable than others. They should be treated more like the way we treat land, where highly valuable land is heavily taxed to incentivize people to actually use it or sell it.
