I don't think any underestimates how powerful it would be. It's the social aspect that is difficult. I wouldn't want to be sat in a pub with you and your always-on notetaker.

> Do they think just throwing out a large number without anything to compare it to is somehow proving something? Welcome to the last 20 years of UK public policy communications. Politicians know that people do not question big numbers or

I can't find the page now but yes they quietly "paused" the June 15th rollout of API pricing for -p headless. Presumably to come back again one day.

The claude -p thing was doubly stupid because they quietly allowed it again a couple of weeks later, so they pissed off developers for nothing

One German football team is named after a pharmaceuticals multinational. (A special case, it was the workers team for the Bayer plant, like Woolwich Arsenal or 'Locomotiv' of many Slavic cities)

In this thread we're talking about people who have life savings to be scammed out of. I'd say it's probably not an everyday thing that people empty their life savings and blow it all on Temu and strippers.

You'd give away all your money to feel a little bit less sad?

Concise mode is likely the same buzzword salad but with fewer connecting words and terser sentences. Same with Caveman. The way it writes is fundamental to how it was trained.

It's such a sad indictment of Anthropic's product that so many people hate interacting with it. Claude is on its way to the Microsoft Teams zone of hatred.

I've read much of the same for Go. It's half true. Python doesn't have as many batteries but its common external packages are probably more present in training data than Go stdlib.

AWS Bedrock's model offering is tiny compared to Open Router. I have to agree with GP, there's no better way to run an eval suite against many models

People tend to walk 10-15 mins at either end when taking the tube, and will walk more through the day. My understanding is this activity is net positive despite the extra particulates while on the tube. I might be misremembering this with a

Every house inner London is covered in black soot from the days of coal fires. Have you ever seen one after it's been sandblasted?

I've lived in London all my life and I only get black bogeys on days that I've been on the tube. Before COVID that was every day.

The Scottish referendum was gifted by the UK, as was its parliament which can theoretically be dissolved by the UK at any time. The NI thing is different, involving a peace treaty between the UK and Ireland.

Not a problem, I disagree with the government all the time. Scotland has less sovereignty than US states, it's not a country.

I'm English and I don't think England or Scotland or Wales are countries. People get confused because of football and rugby. They're nations. The country is the United Kingdom.

That's a deeply biased stance though, isn't it? It seems to say that USA and Brazil eating vast amounts of beef, the latter clearing the Amazon to do so, isn't a problem, it's only a problem now because of the Chinese.

The amount of beef eaten per person per year in the USA is absolutely insane anyway: USA - 37kg/capita UK - 18kg/capita We're not exactly shy of roast beef on this island either - the French nicknamed us "rosbifs" f
