Ha, good one. I never was a great speller. In fact in 6th grade, I wrote a program to do my "write your spelling words 5 times" homework for me. The teachers would let us type it on a computer, and this was in the days before copy

I had this idea to create some sort of gamified RPG battle log format for government procedure. Members of government would be characters in the battle, actions like amendments/comments/votes would be attacks/spells/defe

I group up in an area where all the houses were built in the 1930s. All old growth lumber. At one point, the University of Delaware was buying up houses on my street, including one directly across the street from mine. A crew came along an

I've spend some time imaging about the day when general purpose cooking robots are inexpensive enough to be as ubiquitous as indoor plumbing. How would it affect peoples' diets? Would we eat more healthily because our robot can ea

Interesting, I too heard of mouth pipetting via an antidote about a modern day bovine sperm collection facility. I was surprised that anyone still did it given the availability of the micropipett. Also, I wonder why the scientists of the pa

I love mechanical pinball machines. My cousin used to restore them. I remember visiting him and he'd have them all over his house. They're so noisy. I can't imagine the sound of a pinball arcade back in the day when they were

My favorite uncompressed file size surprise comes from the world of Dreamcast game piracy. Pirates would publish game disc images in a ZIP file that was say 100mb. When uncompressed the iso file would be 750mb. The reason for the huge compr

I'm interested to see a $/H breakdown of the cost of (self hosted htpc) piracy. You gotta buy hard drives and a media player, and spend time with set up and maintaince. You own time would be highly variable in cost. A parent of 4

I once worked on a project for a company that made food flavoring products. I helped build their digital cookbook. They had different recipes for the same flavor depending on the usage. For example, ranch chip powder and ranch dip would hav

Neat. I once wrote a Salesforce to Oracle sync app. I think the goal was to bulk pull data out of Salesforce for processing in Oracle to avoid Salesforce API costs. This was years ago. It was a fun and aggravating project.

I loved this game as a kid. I managed to play the networked 2 player version once ... I think it was over a parallel port connected between two PCs, but it was terribly laggy. I once wrote a sprite editor for Sopwith. The sprites are encode

Question about Fairhope: I spend a lot of time in Arden, Delaware which is also a single tax community. Many of the people of Arden love the town and Georgism. So much so that there seems to be several people from Arden that were named eith

I remember trying to play AITD on a 386. It was unplayable, super slow framerate and unresponsive controls. My friend had a 486 and it played so smoothly in comparison. Also, sad personal story about the Play Date. For a 40th birthday prese
