I group up in an area where all the houses were built in the 1930s. All old growth lumber. At one point, the University of Delaware was buying up houses on my street, including one directly across the street from mine. A crew came along an took the house apart and loaded the lumber onto a flatbed truck. I'm not sure where the lumber went to, but it was pretty cool to watch. They just left the lot empty with grass and a few trees.
