I wouldn’t be surprised if they counted those as well. I don’t think they’ll go so far as installing cctv inside the bathrooms lol

Would you say it's an editor lock-in? I can make pretty much the same argument for say, vim or emacs, and say that plain markdown + fugitive/magit hits the sweet spot. I am just trying to understand where's the vendor lock-in

Wait until you start doing email ... oh wait, mu4e ... never mind. Wait until you start reading news ... oh wait, elfeed ... never mind. Well, you get the point ;-) Just don't install a kernel - emacs already comes with an OS :P

Well, my understanding is that there is no expectation of privacy if you’re using your employers equipment or network. I think it’s pretty clearly written on that offer letter when you sign the contract - or at least the ones I sampled. Not

I have seen nano to be the default for most debian and fedora derived distributions from early 2000s. Not sure if things changed in late teens. Or maybe I am misremembering things.

I think the point that GP made doesn’t have any equivalence in US two party system. The person in question really did start a new party that was not coupled with any of the existing parties and won the capital state with crushing majority.

I am surprised you didn’t mention syncthing! Is it because you’re assuming a cloud backup is necessary component of syncing solution? In that case, you can just designate one of your synced devices to keep backups to S3/B2 :D

Bingo! You beat me to it. This trivia about Nitrogen used to be my favorite when I was studying chemistry in the school. Like there’s lot of nitrogen in the atmosphere and oxygen but they don’t “burn” because (almost all?) nitrogen oxidatio

Agreed, I gave feedback but no use. I am not wasting my time when they’re not going to even bother listening to my feedback. I am out of the previews, not doing your QA for free.

Couldn’t have phrased it better myself! Mindfulness should focus first on observing and not judging/labeling things as good/bad. That just leads to more misery!! The instructors should certainly realize that mindfulness and it’s e

I would say docker is primarily used as an artifact delivery mechanism where artifact presupposes inclusion of required runtime. I an not saying it’s right or wrong. I think it’s the most practical and thus most pervasive use of docker. The

I don’t see any requirement for Apple to provide such functionality. This is simply because all Apple devices come with an OS preinstalled. And you have tools like Jamf for any enterprise fleet management needs

Ugh! It’s most annoying when you’re in a full screen app and presenting. Suddenly, Mail.app decides to take half the screen and spurts all my inbox for everyone to see. You can’t watch full time videos either due to this annoyance.

I think kubernetes is to Infra what RoR was to Web. Not necessarily in terms of architectural style of MVC, but more towards standardization of similar enough problems that can be put into a mutually agreed convention.
