I couldn't get Apple's configuration tool to work for me. I tried the Tmo swap trick too, but that didn't work either. What I learned DID work was just popping the SIM out, going to the settings screen, popping it back in, doing the app cha

Why do people insist on correlating poor IPO performance with a company that somehow messed up? We keep seeing this with Zynga and Facebook too. These companies didn't mess up, those that invested in the stock did. I'm not saying Groupon is

Yeah, it's happened before too. In fact, I think all the members of the group get an email asking if they'd like to pay and take over. At least they used to. I've also been told that it's tricky to remove a group, which means if you want to

Thanks for this! It's a little buggy wrt hiding/showing applications from the popup dialog, but overall it's working pretty well and was worth the purchase. Hopefully future updates iron out the minor issues. There's a free version on their

As someone who's never worked in the Microsoft development world, is a "Dev Center" account what one needs to publish apps to the MS Store, or is this something else? I have an interest in playing around with WinPho/Metro apps, and if dropp

Offering those options is great and all, but let me create an account with just an email too. Also, if I'm on the signup page and click the Drone.io logo, it just adds a # to the URL and doesn't go back to the home page.

Pretty neat. I ended up grabbing a domain, now I need to figure out a project for it.

That's exactly what I thought. 2 paragraphs in I was expecting a Bitbucket mention and a reason why it didn't work for them and found none. Search the page and there's no mention of it at all. Then I wrote the article off as an uninformed r

"Google could absolutely prove anti-competitiveness of the App store, by simply releasing the app that existed on iOS5" I was under the impression that Apple was the one that wrote that app, and they just sourced all the map data from Googl

Exactly. Look at the Touchpad and Playbook for examples. Just because a product "works" after being killed doesn't mean it'll do what you want/need it to. The iPad is a safe play, it'll have new apps for the foreseeable future. The Surface

This mirrors my (extremely limited) experience with Facebook ads. They really suck for driving traffic to your site, and you'll see an obscenely high bounce rate. But, if you're trying to drive traffic to something ON Facebook (like this ev

First thing I thought too. The email validation step, in my opinion, is the most annoying part of signing up for any site. I often log in places on devices where I don't have access to my email, so this requirement would completely keep me

Yeah, that was one of the biggest announcements they made this year. If it works (and why wouldn't it?), it'll put an end to the piracy problem while at the same time allowing you to side load any non-pirated application you want. What wasn

Thanks for that. Reading this, I immediately thought "hey, this sounds just like Mozilla's Prism?" Watching the video basically confirmed that it is, but now with some integration with Unity. That integration is pretty key I guess, but Pris

While that's all true, people still lined up a few days in advance to get one. Kind of difficult to make the point that the public was underwhelmed by it at release.

Yeah, I thought I read that it works both ways. This device is clearly meant to be used in a horizontal orientation though based on the ports, the cameras and the Windows button. I guess it's positioned as more of a laptop replacement than

The Windows button is oriented horizontally. That's an interesting choice. Is metro not really designed to be used on vertical orientation?

Also of note, if you're going to push your private repo to the cloud anyway, Bitbucket has free private Git repos. It's not as featureful as Github, but it has more than just the simple file storage you'd get through Dropbox.

This looks really promising from what I see in the screenshot. Since you're in private beta, why not add a mailing list signup? That way, those that don't get an invite code will still get reminders of this tool and a notification when th

Same. For the record, I don't have a Facebook account, so it's not exactly "simple" to vote; there's a few fields to fill in (including a password? why?), and I assume I would have to validate my email, which I find infinitely annoying.

That's immediately what I thought too. Being able to keep my phone on a dock instead of on my bed and getting the same functionality sounds nice. Having it not pick up my girlfriends' movement is pretty appealing too. For me personally, the
