Truth is, the UK is certainly the most liberal country of Western Europe. Good luck trying to get your business (startup or else) in France for example.

Data, not metrics. Data is facts, it's not opinionated. Metrics, on the other hands are built upon data but are often carrying an agenda with them, they're political (whether it's office or nation politics) tools.

I think that's an excellent opportunity for the EU scene to rise and gain leverage now. Let's not fool ourselves here, we might be friends we're not family though. I'd rather 'trust' an EU company with my data

>Building on top of these platforms [...] Relying on an other business (platform, as a customer, [...]) for more than 25% (33, 50 your call)of your revenue is risky no matter the industry. Relying a 100% is stupid.

I was about to say you'd fit well in Europe, then I saw you are a Brit. My comment still holds, if you see what I mean ;) It's really something cultural I guess but I can only feel the same way as you do.

Group thinking is not bad, as long as we're defining group : (small) set of people with lot of common characteristics, goals (if applicable). The opposite of the "mass" which usually is a large set of people whom highest comm

Yeah obviously, but my main point is that the world would be better if we were less apathetic. I don't trust any government, but I don't trust my group of fellows citizens either. Check out Gustave LeBon :) http://en.wi

If the citizens of the US of A really believed in their right to Privacy and the rest of nice stuff provided by their Constitution, they should already be at war with their current government. (Exaggerated obviously, you get the point)

Don't overdo it mate. I don't think there's a globally superior OS out there in the market. Each has its own pros and cons. And yes, your comment sounds really condescending : "masses, ignorant".

The other difference worth noticing is that albeit being a bit unclear, Amazon's Prime is far to be as shady as JustFab's darkpattern since there's a huge modal window popping during the order.
