Personally, I quit heavy boozing about five years ago and totally quit about two years ago. And personally, I can feel the difference in my mood, my behaviour, my thinking, and the effects on other around me. This applied to very light drin

I downgraded to 7 on my Mac so I’d better prevent the auto update on my iPhone. Worst version of 1Password ever.

I started out using debuggers because it made sense to step through the execution, then stopped for years as a junior- and mid-level because nobody else did, least of all the toxic lead engineers that were liberally sprinkled over every Lon

Haven't touched Japanese since I studied it at university for several years. Useless that I am, I didn't use it or practice it again and can't remember anything after 30 years. I've bought the book :D

Used Tower since 1.0 but ditched it last month. Moved back to non-subscription Tower 1.0 but focusing on lazygit and CLI with merge support from old Kaleidoscope version. VSC is more than a good enough git gui too. Tower’s GUI just became c

A modern extension of "Churnalism", coined by Nick Davies in Flat Earth News (that has its own issues but it's still a good read) whereby news rooms are overly keen (or forced into) using external PR fluff. Link to WikiP: ht

RIP. I played the everloving heck of this on my Powerbook 180 for years and years and years. Heh, all my university years. Everything about it is hardwired into my brain.

I’ve had a VM for three years and my tracking expires any day now. Never had to use it, thankfully, and I also lock the bike with a short Almax chain which is as tough a deterrent as is practical. Tracking a vehicle is great. My wife’s scoo

I shoot a Leica Q2 and a Contax G2, amongst other cameras, and the Q2 is fantastic, but there are things that the G2 lenses can do that nothing else can. I don’t care if it’s film or a sensor inside. I also shoot with an old Rollei SL66. Th

That is quite funny, computers are very thorough. I knew the 5D4 would be the end of the line, and I ditched my 1DX which was just too heavy, the 4 is better in every way. I had the original 5D and the mk2, and very impressed at how refined

Funny, I picked up a 5D4 for a song a few months ago, while everyone sells their stuff off to buy mirrorless. The 5D4 has more features! The only real advantage of mirrorless viewfinders for me is the ability in low light. I have a Q2 and i

This is false equivalence, children being trafficked and forced into servitude is nothing like a family entering a country without the correct visas. There is no loophole here, the child was rescued by social services.
