Infinitesimal math is completely coherent, it just doesn't have one theory that is "thee algebra" like the real numbers do.

Sure, otherwise you're just solipsistic, we have to assume things exist, it's how you make progress. If you think quantum is "the real stuff that exists" then you should assume, for now, that the model actually models so

Why are they signs of an unhealthy economy? Gentrification and bad zoning laws alone could explain many of your examples.

Because the "why" is always going to be personal. A PhD in CS is never going to be a sane financial choice, and it has heavy risks if you find yourself with a bad advisor. Anyone who has thought about doing a PhD critically knows

Ah yes, monadic programming, liked by no one but championed by those who probably have never really had to do it. OCaml does state without monads the way it does for a reason, because working with monads is a massive headache.

It is, there is an entire field called Numerical Analysis about this, but instead of spending a year learning numerical analysis throwing it at a tool that spits out something pretty decent after 15 minutes is probably a better ROI.

At first, i thought you delusional, because make no mistake AI will never make quality software better than a dedicated human (that is until AI is so smart that trying to use it in this fashion is tantamount to slavery). However... The soft

You miss the point though, as the problem is two-sided. The consumer struggles to find a quality product because they simply don't know how. The producer also struggles to produce a quality product, because it's hard to know what

I kind of see what you're getting at, but don't think you've described it well. My attempt to restate your position: Suppose you write a program that just so happens to log information every leap day. No one uses the informat

Because most people's empathy doesn't extend to trees. That is the simple factual answer. All these other games about what trait draws the ethical line are post hoc. The reality is people feel it is bad to hurt animals they can em

No thanks, don't need any more authoritarian moves from presidential over reach. Privacy laws for companies making X$ in yearly revenue is much saner approach.

Optimal beta reduction is a very technical term. In effect it means any "family" of lambda terms will all be reduced "at once." What is a family? Go take two semesters in rewriting theory and then perhaps our two heads t

Any interval type with decidable equality is degenerate (everything ends up with a path to everything else). Having i0 and i10 be constant makes me suspect that the interval type likely has a decidable equality. This of course being on top
