Google Patent's interface is dumb. This means "Today (on 2020-03-09), the patent application is not in a state of pending to be filed." The fact they put this in the Events section is horrible UI. It's not an event, it&#

Slightly unrelated, but why does the stock market close each night? If trading was open 24/7, we wouldn't have large spikes like this every morning. We'd only have them when certain news is announced.

People now buy CPUs and GPUs based on primarily one index: how many fps their favorite games can run at their desired resolution and quality. So manufacturers of QCs should do the same by specifying what problems at what sizes their hardwar

Type systems are 0.1% what I'm talking about. There's WAY more to a function contract that its type. For example, consider the function `round(x)`. Does it round toward infinity, toward negative infinity, toward zero, bank roundin

Good idea. This does change the optimized assembly, but it doesn't seem to make a measureable difference in performance on my machine.

It might not be faster, but unfortunately the computer I'm typing this on doesn't support AVX2. :(

Hmm, I can't think of a way to use the mathematical structure of those numbers to speed up checking. However, the reason I said AVX is because it can be used for checking equality of 5 (well, 8) numbers simultaneously. This solution re

#1 got me and I had a good laugh. I wonder if there's a faster method for #2 using AVX and bit tiddling, or if the optimizer is smart enough to find the most efficient code for a particular architecture.

If you think my comment implies that drunk people should be banned from public transit, you are very wrong. My comment is about an ideal world where everyone has virtues, not about regulation in an imperfect world.

I guess it's just about the virtue of integrity. Even casual house parties attract integrity-less people who will destroy your carpet by bringing food into carpeted rooms and then trampling it over without seemingly noticing. That'

As with nearly all of the Behringer clones, there is nothing the legal system can do to provide what is "fair" to the original designers of their cloned circuits and interface likeness. In my opinion, there is no way to solve this

Not if you have a sudo timeout enabled. Or, the proof of concept could be changed to alias sudo='sudo ./badscript' where badscript runs `exec $@`.

Your quote doesn't specify the order of LSB and MSB messages sent by controllers. Nowhere in the standard does it specify the order. The issue is this: If MSB arrives first, you'd want to reset the LSB to 0. If LSB arrives, the va
