That’s so simple and brilliant; if I kept any old phones I’d love to build a little device like that. I’ve thought about similar stuff with raspberry pis or the other tiny hacker platform (can’t remember the name right now!) but these thing

Hmmm It is indeed an intriguing topic to consider. I hear something like my own voice both when I am thinking throughout the day and when I am writing, such as right now I hear my “imaginary voice” speaking what I’m typing out. The idea o

Hmm, I have no idea what my wpm measure is, but I've never been able to identify with the perception of ADHD being something only low-IQ kids have. People I know with ADHD-symptoms are typically bright and creative, above-average human

Poor executive functioning is why I could never make myself start writing a paper prior to the day or two before it was due, despite the rising sense of panic I would get for weeks. (This is key -- it's not laziness, because good lord

So, the mood swing thing was something I didn't identify with ADHD until I saw it mentioned in a book called "Driven to Distraction". I can't remember the exact details, but I think in the first few pages the author talk

I’m 31 and have ADHD (diagnosed in my teens) and I’m pretty sure NOBODY with ADHD is going to have the wherewithal to read this entire article! Unless it happens to magically coincide with their hyper-focus topic of the moment! In all serio

Eh, ability to restrain oneself (and keep those hyperactive thoughts internal) comes with age. I don’t think the impulsivity associated with ADHD in children disappears when those children become adults; they just learn to control the outwa

My 69 year old father lived in Beijing for a few years recently and I'm pretty sure the company he worked for must have taken care of things like that for them because I can't imagine that man ever attempting to write Chinese. I g

Heavy readers with terrible spelling seems odd... spelling isn't something that is hard, it's kind of automatic once you use a language past a certain age, at least for me.

- spellcheck is always on, why learn real spelling when the computer fixes it for you? I wonder if over time you absorb the information anyways. Also, spell-check telling you there's an error isn't the same as automatically fixi

I don’t know if it’s still this way, but I liked how Android used to allow returning an app after purchase (time limited I assume), and was always surprised Apple doesn’t have a mechanism like this. Well, not surprised, I guess, there’s an

Interested to know more about this. I don’t think much public information is out there, but a quick Google revealed Snap signed a five year $2B contract with G back in 2017, and that’s just one major customer.

Don’t most government contracts tend to go through competitive bidding processes and such? Sans NSA and some top secret military ones, I’d think a bunch of this stuff is pretty open knowledge, at least somewhere out there.

This is why I just ignore unknown contacts unless I’m expecting a call at the time. And rule of thumb: the government doesn’t call anyone for tax stuff. They can send the police or tax auditors to find me in person if there’s a real fucking
