Austinite here... your hypothetical BBQ trip sounds exactly like the type of thing some super-rich outsider would do. Personally, I don’t buy into the hype. The BBQ is good but not “wait in line for hours” good. I’d rather smoke my own meat

I admire people with your attitude. I wish I was like that but I think I’m just naturally lazy.

I wonder how much more prevalent phimosis would be if infant circumcision weren’t a thing, though. Speaking from experience here, lol, adult circumcision was not fun.

I think you’re reasoning is sound, I’m also dismayed to think of people who would deprive their child of SOUND. That should be a jail-able offense, assuming they are making a decision that can’t be undone.

This (article) is ridiculous. That was not the first “R” adjective I wanted to use to describe it. People will find anything to get all PC and fussy about. You can’t make a blanket statement like “little people don’t want to be taller, they

Thank you. These kinds of people have little life outside of work and few interests outside of tech. There are those of us who seek careers in tech but do not want to go home and think about tech or even read much about it in their off-time

What’s the est development burden to add support for Split Screen in Mac OS? I noticed VLC doesn’t support this yet and wasn’t sure if it’s going to be a huge thing to add or not.

Hmm, never tried that with melodyne myself and the video you posted isn't a great example of an accurate vocal extraction - those are more like vocal chops and are already pretty dirty to begin with. Based on my experience with Melodyn

Beyond all that, a lot of people already have an unrelated degree. Going back to school for CS makes even less sense if you already have a college degree, even in an unrelated field, and have some coding knowledge or job experience.

There should be a simpler way. All this crap is too complicated. Even if you manage to somehow do the research and understand it well at some point, unless your working with options grants on a regular basis, you'll probably forget it

Seems like a really odd way of saying it but that’s what I’d think too, as in “landed their shots”. This is either a poor question, or a really great question, if the goal of the test is to confuse computers where a human would normally say

Are things like this usually targeted, I.e. the hackers know enough about you to know who you are and you probably know their names or at least know someone they know? How do hackers even pick their targets?

I grew up sleeping with a humidifier first in my room and then just some kind of noisy fan. Nowadays I use a Marpac sound machine, like you see in doctors offices sometimes. Kind of a quirky habit but silence feels so... deafening.
