If you use Octal on iOS, it has a Comment Jumper option. Turn that on and you’ll be able to quickly skip from one thread to the next. I’d argue that is its killer feature.

Do you mean other than MoCs (Maps of Content)? I use the Waypoint plugin with folders to create auto-generated maps of content within folder hierarchies. Works nicely to give me an index to use as a first port of call in a subject and works

I was pleasantly surprised that our version of the FTC (the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority - CMA) blocked the deal. We live in a world of trillion dollar tech companies. The level of power they have is enormous. It’s about time regu

I liked and used Bear for a few years. Obsidian isn’t as nice to use in terms of UI but once I learned how to use it I would find it hard to use anything else.

Disagree. Non-profit “news” can just as well mean the owners are motivated by ideology rather than truth. My experience working in the “alternative media” ecosystem was very much this. You start off thinking you’re “countering MSM propagand

Same for me. Chronically tired all the time since I can remember. Tried everything. Exercise, diet, probiotics, meditation, sleep training. Got diagnosed for depression ten years ago. No medication helped. Finally got prescribed “off label”

It makes sense when you think about how much of English history is influenced by the presence of Danish raiders and kingdoms. I live near a place called Dane Hill for example. In the Northern dialects and Scotland there are even more influe

A web version that people can use on their computers might help. If you want to post on multiple platforms simultaneously, it’s much easier when you can keep all the platforms open in a browser tab and swap between them to deal with replies

It's been a game changer for me. I always did this anyway in other Notes apps, but Obsidian just does a great job of making it feel like it almost prefers you to write notes like that.

The thing about the BSDs, and especially OpenBSD, is that their MAN pages are phenomenally good. Documentation on their respective websites covers most of the rest of what you need. If you want to really nerd out, I highly recommend all of

Honestly, any off the shelf or eBay x86 mini-ITX board is fairly well supported. Probably stay away from Atom CPUs (Celeron or i3 is fine) and any exotic hardware, use whatever ITX case you want and a PicoPSU, stuff it with a 2-4 port NIC a

I agree completely that it is really difficult if not impossible to scale. But if you consider that sometimes it takes just a few key community leaders to get together and hash things out, that inter-leader level of dialogue can really scal
