I read the title as "It's sinking in that THE Sun is gone." Oops. On a related note, in college we programmed SPARC Assembly on some Sun workstations. Those days will be missed. Sort of.

"The only reason to monetize a web project is if you intend to make serious money." Err, or maybe you just want to break even. If user's find what you're doing interesting or useful, they'll put up with an advertisement or two.

The wonderful thing is that if a price tag was placed on the Linux Kernel, it would become worthless. Being free (monetarily and in philosophy) is what makes it so valuable.

I think that record labels would be far more successful getting money from people if they would bring suits of this size. Keep under a certain amount and it could even go to small claims court. A few people getting slapped with $675,000 i

I was lucky enough to find a job doing something that I love. Have you given much thought to finding a full-time job where you could do 2D/3D real time graphics? At the very least, you could be satisfied with the work you're doing AND hav

I hadn't considered the usefulness of this for the designers. Being able to go pull up "that awesome design from last week" would probably be very attractive to them.

I feel that there may be a chance of "Why would we need to user version control when we can just use you instead?". I do like the idea though and will probably set up a repository today for projects that I'm working on.

I think that cheating is fairly common in any undergraduate class. In my experience, business courses had the most obvious cheating. Perhaps learning how to work the system is all part of a business degree.

I recently landed a job via Craigslist. It pays well for my region(Michigan) and seems to be a great company to work for so far. I have a feeling I'm the exception though, not the rule.

I like the color scheme, but I think that there isn't enough contrast between the colors. It all sort of blends together and becomes gray.

I agree. The color scheme is really harsh. Tone it down a bit.

In line with this, I recently have been trying to exit grad school. I applied with a large tech company (within the top Fortune 20), interviewed, and got an offer. The problem was that they offered 15K less than anyone else, and refused t
