The live video encode use-case seems like one that makes sense, and likely requires more bandwidth than TB4 can support.

It has 8 x DDR4 3200, so about 204GB/s of memory bandwidth, 1/4th of the M2 Ultra.

FWIW, I believe it’s 900GB/s full duplex, so 450GB/s each way. Still a ton!

I really like Mike's version. If anyone has perf tips, I'm happy to pass them on. It's a little out dated, we have a big update coming in the near future to add support for E-Band simulation, etc.

Grace can be paired with Hopper via a 900GB/s NVLINK bus (500GB/s memory bandwidth), 1TB of LPDDR5 on the CPU and 80-94GB of HBM3 on the GPU.

How else would it be transported? Rail seems like a safe/efficient way of doing so.

Wouldn’t you then just put more servers in and use the same 32MW footprint?

I bought a house out in the middle of nowhere in part for the dark sky. It's awesome to walk outside and see so much. Per this data, my house is at 19.9 μcd/m2, and if I drive/hike a few miles down the road, I can get to <

Semantics, I guess -- If you pick one at random, you've got a 15-25% chance of it being pure avocado/olive oil. Sure, you can get real stuff if you know what you are looking for.

FWIW, this whole thing is a bit confusing -- there's the Gen2 constellation and the V2.0 satellite. The V2.0 satellite is huge, ~6.4x2.7m with 2 solar arrays totaling 257m^2. Elon has said it will deliver close to an order of magnitude

The biggest loser here seems to business users, who, for $500/mo get 1TB of data prioritized over nearly everyone, but then are capped to 1Mbps up/down until they pay $1/GB for more priority data! Even worse for maritime user

Back of the Napkin Zen4 / Genoa gets you to ~500GB/s PCIe and ~500GB/s of DRAM bandwidth -- nearly 4Tbps! Zen3/Rome is ~300GB/s PCIe and ~300GB/s DRAM -- about 2.4Tbps. A single 2U box with Genoa might scale to

It works with such high efficiency because we know how to place content in advance, and the catalog is relatively small. Trying to serve 800Gbps of YouTube content would be a nightmare.

Yea, this is a terrible way of calculating this. I would like to see it done based on capacity (which sadly isn't public for part-ownership).
