You understand that statement was nowhere near whataboutism, right? All of the examples were about how Apple on avg. treats their employees very well. Whataboutism would be me bringing up the amazon story as a way to counter the criticism.

Fair enough, I know I self host everything. I would just suggest that a pi is probably a bad example. Since its ARM and you would want your ci/cd to run as close to production(x86) as possible.

I managed inventory at an Apple store and most of our policies was related to this risk. Since as a employee I'm able to mark a product as unsellable its gives the employee a lot of power to try to steal. Thats why if you look at a sto

Over the years I haven't found very many unix tools I couldn't install with homebrew. I'm also a big fan of the move from Bash to ZSH. Why start up a VM or SSH into another machine if I can just use Terminal or Iterm.

This is clearly anecdotal, but nearly every dev/engineer from every company I have ever worked for has had an MBP as their work laptop.

I think you underestimate how many power users use macOS. Most of their privacy and security marketing isn't really targeted at normal people. The avg. person doesn't really care that much.

You realize both things can pay those salaries right? Paying customers subsidizing non-paying customers is rather common. Also you know free apps have in-app purchases right?

umm as a pen tester the move from bash to zsh was the most exciting thing about this update. w ^ to find the wfuzz command I did 2 days ago and didn't take notes on the output is useful as hell.
