I'm replying to the general concept that it's a lot of money for a campaign. It's really not. While it's a good amount from a specific person, this specific person has a lot of money. Hillary has multiple people over a m

I appreciated this even though it hit me a bit (I like pomodoro timers). There are some disturbing trends in the startup world. I think the goal is actually burnout. Can't prove it, but it seems like most of the trapping mention are de

I don't think that the person is being lazy. I've tried my hand at Android. I will continue to do so. I don't like it for the reasons enumerated in the post. The whole damn thing is a hack at this point. No one has a good gen

And it's called Communism. Marx is right in this general sense. Now we'll see what happens when the consumer base is decimated too. Capitalist might have all of the infrastructure but no one can buy.

Kind of depends on what the 10 GB is. For example, on my project, we started on files that were about 10 GB a day. The old system took 9 hours to enhance the data (add columns from other sources based on simple joins). So we did it with Had

I think it depends on how much you treasure battery life. Electron based apps suffer from poor battery life due to the Chromium unpinning. JS is resource intensive compared to C++. You can probably get an extra 20-35% battery life out of Su

To take issue with your later points: a lot of resource pressure is due to humans being to stupid to not throw away their resources. Take California for instance. They have two really big environmental issues: drought and fires. LA purposel

Similar real line: Does it still eat battery like a mid-westerner at a buffet? I've thought about using underlying tech for a desktop app. I don't know how easy it will be to sell given that it would drain battery at probably 1.5

Not to get too political, but I think that the US tends to have the policies it does to prevent the all out collapse of the Middle East. If you think it's a shit storm now, just wait until they have nothing. Few of those states investe

I think a lot of this could be covered by two principles that are often quoted but over looked. The first is, KISS, keep it simple stupid. The second is single responsibility. When I design software, I apply both of these to every facet of

Lost efficiency. If you want a semi-persistent relational DB, you can use BerkleyDB. There are also embedded DBs for Java, and probably other languages. If you do this, you're not wasting RAM for the VM and the guest OS. The DB gets it

I know there is a sense of biting irony here, but it really a valid comment for relatively static sites. Look at the Git based systems out there. If you can generate your site without a tier, generate it without a tier.
