I really wish the JDK devs would start using constructors again. I understand why factory methods exist but everything these days is of/from/newInstance/something else. Dart/Scala/Kotlin have all really solved this

Think this convinced me to move over.

Absolute another level of lazy if you need an LLM to git for you.

An attacker has access to your git??? You’re fucked. Give up.

It makes plenty sense to be. There aren’t many negatives and there are plenty of workloads that would benefit.

Any choice would have made obscene money in this market. It doesn’t make it a good choice.

LLM code has always been an abomination.

But if the segfaults are new that implies it’s from the LLM no?

I thought maintenance was free with LLMs???

You seem to be really hostile for no apparent reason. There are plenty of reasons to be generational, there are lots of workloads that the current implementation might fall flat if it wasn't.

Is the Go GC that special? Is it even generational yet?

Kotlin is great on the server too.

I don’t get it. Why not just use dart for the app backend? I understand not using it on the server because it’s not mature there.

Sure, if you prefer low quality go ahead. Many people have always preferred low quality. Many people prefer to eat junk. I also genuinely believe that time tradeoff doesn’t matter. > Before a couple of years ago, it might have taken me

I still exclusively write my code. The quality is higher. I know exactly how it works. It’s more extensible. You don’t have to generate it.

I suspect the future of open source will be to never publish your tests. Or someone will just pump them into an LLM like this.

Hackers were only one of the many straws that killed Arc Raiders. Mostly it was a dev team that didn’t care.

That’s a problem with ecto and not ORMs. A good ORM will be able to do that hashmap mapping.

All the time. Oracle and the OpenJdk team do VM changes way more than language changes.
