I’d have to stop interacting with meat proxies and wouldn’t have to read copy pasted LLM text.

Big fan of Keycloak personally, but I'm also deep in the Quarkus/JVM ecosystem and Quarkus makes deving against Keycloak extremely easy.

> just hook into the Auth library you use (library, not service). I think this is a fundamental misunderstanding of how this stuff works. You can't "just use a library". Your identity server is a service, open source or no

I really whole heartedly disagree and if you think it’s silly I think that you don’t really fully understand the complexity of it. An LLM doesn’t solve everything. You still need to understand the spec, become a domain expert, and design yo

This is a terrible suggestion. Rolling your own auth nowadays is like rolling your own encryption. It’s just a bad idea. OAuth and OIDC are massive specs that are constantly changing and you’re going to be stuck chasing and developing auth

The creator of flutter was on here saying that 1/3 of all apps on the App Store use it. That seems to be a lot more than “nobody”.

Same man. I hate everything about this career path right now, but even real (civil, structural) engineers get paid massively less. I think I’ve just come to a realization that software engineering salaries are just massively inflated, espec

If LLMs are any good, like many of you claim, they won’t need these comments. They will ingest the code and know what was done. They won’t need comments about what wasn’t done.

You might not see this since I'm rather late. What is a value type exception? Is it one that doesn't collect a stack trace? Or doesn't unwind in the usual way or something?

Java's problem with checked exceptions is that they didn't add them fully to the type system (the lambda problem), and they never added any syntax sugar to make them easier to deal with. I really love checked exceptions and wish w

It seems like Java is thinking about it now that Valhalla is landing and they’re expecting more user defined mathematical types.

> my criticism was that Java requires an overengineered GC to compensate for its fundamental language flaws that make optimization all but impossible. Except this criticism will be outdated. (but then you moved the goal post to syntax).
